  1. You may find your answer on this board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/ I didn't look, but imagine it's a common dilemma.
  2. Looking at your cruise history, I think you and your Kindle will be fine!
  3. That cabin is a "triple" across from a full-handicapped cabin. Not an Ambulatory which would have an indication of a five-pointed star. The big box is wrong. You will almost certainly have to deal with the TA to get that booking marked NO UPGRADES.
  4. I would rather have a totebag than a tile!
  5. My husband will wear a long-sleeved guayabera, aka Mexican wedding shirt. I plan sparkly top and shiny leggings. When we had family on a 7-day Alaska, one night the men all wore Hawaiian type shirts and the other Gala, gag ties. Yes I did orchestrate them having them along!
  6. How delightful! I don't have a clue but wanted to welcome you to Cruise Critic! You might ask your question here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/388-marella-cruises-formerly-thomson/ or here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/544-uk-cruisers/ Assume you have read everything on the Marella website?
  7. Ask here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/119-princess-cruises/
  8. The designations AS and BC are just sub-categories. The BCs on Nieuw Statendam are the "end units" on the "bump" Deck 4. You do not get the suite Mariner Points with an upgrade offer. The Vista Suites are not much bigger than Verandahs. I do not see any advantage to you! Stay with Aft Balcony and see how nice it is!
  9. Your Roll Call is here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2781220-mar-27-apr-10-2023-14-day-southern-japan/ and it is the place to ask this question. You may also want to browse the Asia ports-of-call board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/43-asia/ Welcome back to posting on CC!
  10. My HAL PCC would have pointed it out. On HAL you only get to "put in" for price drops if you have a REFUNDABLE deposit as that is equivalent to cancelling/being refunded/rebooking. In the age of COVID, I definitely would have paid more for the option of cancelling.
  11. HAL-fan piping up here. I do not have a TA. Have not used a TA since 2009. For HAL I use a PCC (personal cruise consultant), same as Carnival's PVP. Well almost the same... When I determined that the only Alaska cruise operating from-and-to LA in 2023 was Carnival's Miracle, I signed up for a PVP. She happily let me book two cabins, which had to be a triple and a double to be next to each other, -- with a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. My HAL PCC would never have let me do that! Two or three of the five of us may not be comfortable (COVID-wise) with cruising in Sept 2023. My husband and I will be out minimum of $250 and maximum of $1000 if we fail to reschedule on Carnival. What will I do in the future with CCL??? Not sail with them. Penny-wise Pound-foolish on their part.
  12. Are you looking at the CruiseDeckPlans.com deckplan? It predates the current HAL one I attached, and show the tracks in the Galley which run right over the entrance area of 3383 using their Cabin Guru app. 3383 is well forward of anything Dining room.
  13. Just to prove I know this for a fact: we bought three rooms for six family members for 7-day Alaska and FOUR rooms for seven family members for 14-day Alaska, and our Mariner points increased by just our allotment. Gosh, we'd be five-star by now otherwise!
  14. The passenger gets the points and "the room" gets the OBC.
  15. Hi Scrapnana! Whoever said you weren't under the kitchen was sadly mistaken! All of the gray area is considered Galley -- some where cooking takes place and some where foodstuffs are stored. Looking at the CruiseDeckPlans deck plans, your cabin is right in the middle of some "tracks" where I'm guessing they fetch carts of ingredients and roll them to the actual "kitchen", hence the bowling alley sound effects.
  16. Why don't you head over to the MSC board and ask about entertainment etc ship to ship? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/49-msc-cruises/ Larger lines seem to have the shows pretty similar ship to ship, per season.
  17. Do you no longer have to carry your passport with you, if you take the White Pass Rail to the Yukon and back? In the past, they were checked for all passengers...
  18. It's a rayon tunic from Roamans (plus-size on line catalog). I have many of the prints (altho strangely, not the one in this screenshot) and a few solid-crinkle fabric that I don't like as well. I meant to point out that my two-tops-for-every-bottom policy was really stressed on this packing list as we spent three WARM days in Florida before the cruise and three COOL days in Copenhagen after! Not to mention getting it all under Norwegian's weight limit.
  19. @57redbirdSuggest a Plan B. If everything goes just right you can get to the airport by 9, but many things could hold you up -- clearing the ship, TSA at airport, etc. Is there a later flight?
  20. Look into it but check your dates carefully! For our New Year's cruise -- there was a black-out date for NYE! no good, we will be in Cabo on NYE. We are pre-paid at Wyndham Bayside, also just across the street. Pricy but convenient. OP, @halifaxcruising -- research fast and book/pre-pay your choice. Parking is a big issue in California cities including San Diego.
  21. We did the Highlights and Transfer in 2014; I don't think it included the Tango Show, so probably a different bus, even if I could remember the timing! But, I do remember it was a smooth operation!
  22. That would indicate that, like the AARP cards, they are not going to be recognized as cruise or travel expenses as far as my Chase Sapphire CC. Thanks for the information; we will pay outright with credit card for the protection. As far as OBC/excursions etc, it probably isn't worth the trouble to pursue the 10% bonus... I do remember that when I bought HAL gift cards in October, every field had to be typed in, no auto-fill!
  23. April-May 2015, 26-day (plus travel each end) transAtlantic+Mediterranean: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2897110-mediterranean-cruise/#comment-64388658 Most Recent Cruise: Apr-May 2019, 16-day transAtlantic+northern Europe + 3-nights in a condo in Copenhagen. This is COMPLETE (and everything was weighed, because we flew home on Norwegian with VERY strict and limited carry-on allowances). We did do one load of laundry at the condo. 24. Not having sailed with MSC, I would take the B2B and spend the additional 7-days on land in your port city either at the start or the end of the combined cruises. That way you get the convenience of limited packing/unpacking AND get to see one area in more depth -- and do not have to figure out how to get 150+ miles between the ports.
