  1. I would cal AMEX back and ask them to send your the Celebrity Guest Invoice they would have received.
  2. I am heading to Naples in May, it will be my 3rd visit and we still have not done Capri. this time we are doing an amalfi coast drive. So far in our previous stops we have explored Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento
  3. When we sailed on the eclipse in November the waiter told us that they had purposefully made most of the mains smaller to reduce waste so if you want a second don't hesitate to ask.
  4. It has been a few years (last time was 2017) but some differences that stand out to me from the past that were different on the other lines I went on, besides the languages, were as follows: - (tap) water was not served in the MDR - you basically could only get bottled - people were generally better dressed at dinner - very few men wore shorts except on the pool deck - early seating for dinner was quiet where the late seating was packed - shows were less full than I was used too - more people smoking (and not so much caring about the smoking areas
  5. In my 3 previous cruises in Europe I have found the lines I was on were different compared to their North American offerings. I am heading to Italy & Greece on the odyssey in May. I have been on Royal twice to the Caribbean and wondering if it is different in Europe as it is with many other lines.
  6. no problem at all. My girls did lunch by themselves when they were 12 & 10, they are tall for their age but no issues at all.
  7. Late dining is the easiest one to get changed to. If you booked direct call the cruiseline and they can change, you might even be able to do it on the website or the app. If you booked with a TA you will likely have to contact them to do it. But it should not be a huge issue as late rarely is totally full.
  8. lots of factors will go in to that. Generally if you only have that option you are booking at a time when the ship is mostly full and they have not started there move up / upgrade time yet so they are opening a number of guarantees so once people are upgraded they know what they have left to assign. If you are booking early you can often get a guarantee cabin as well but there is usually the option to bool the cabin you want as well. You are correct it happens a lot more nowadays with all the upsell/move up programs in the old days when the true upgrade ferry was around it was way less common.
  9. I use US cash. I have usually prepaid any tours and things as much as possible. I would have no problem using my Canadian Credit card for something extraordinary
  10. the Havana cabins on deck 5 have the biggest balcony (although they are not the most private) not sure about room layout.
  11. The cruise port is Ravenna and yes Bologna is closer and easier to get to the port. That said Venice is one of my favorite city's in the world. So I am flying in to Venice and staying for a couple of days before heading out on my cruise. We will travel from Venice the day of taking the train down, even with a change of trains required.
  12. I am heading there in May and staying right in Venice and the place I am staying told me not to use the website as they will deal with this as part of the billing ror accomodation. Just as an FYI as I would not want you to pay twice.
  13. most cruise lines offer such a package. the variety of what it covers and the selection on menus will vary from cruise line to cruise line.
  14. the sail in to spit Croatia was very cool.
  15. that totally depends on the port, if I have been there before etc. For example if I was going to many carribean ports I would say yes as I have done the main touristy things and I am not a beach guy. But if we are talking Europe in many ports I have so many things still to see and do that even just wandering is a great experience. You should really look in to private excursions and experiences in the ports where you have been there done that. Often you can find some very unique things to do that few people experience (note some can be expensive). Often you have to be comfortable doing a bunch of research to find sopme great options, as well using local transport or arranging a way to get to the place and back on your own can be a lot of fun.
  16. The actual kids club on Celebrity is very good and was one of my kids favourites. That said if your kids are in to amenities like water slides, rock walls etc they will be disappointed and board on Celebrity. If they are into group activities, more creative less physical outlets then they may enjoy Celebrity.
  17. they have them on the ship. at the pool deck. last time I checked it was no charge not sure about HMC
  18. That is crazy, I have never done the overnight in Cabo on Carnival but just did it in November on Celebrity and we just stayed at anchor and you could come and go all night. I did not take advantage of that but many did. I would have thought Carnival would totally be the same. live and learn.
  19. not quite true as it needs to fit in the xray machine, and you have to lift it on to the conveyor belt to get it through that machine.
  20. But do you eat in the buffet? as those staff are included and many of the dining room staff work there in mornings and lunch

  23. this is an often discussed question. from previous threads here is a breakdown from before the last increase. it is probably still roughly the same
  24. Been on the Voyager and Seranade in the past and did not need reservations for any shows. Which ships need show reservations now?
  25. Was on 2 weeks ago and they had them in the ocean view everyday.
