  1. that said it might not be bookable directly online. you would either have to call or use a TA for access. But yes they do exist and can be very nice.
  2. Right on the online form when you fill it out it says within 7 days to reply
  3. If your in to technicalities then I would say Celebrity has no culpability here as you technically don't have to do anything in advance and just show up at the pier and do it all at that time and you need to deal with the results. Celebrity publishes the timeframe for advance check in on the website. Depending how you booked they may send you advance, day of or at somepoint later reminders that you have the opportunity to do your check in. After the point that check in is available they send out reminders to all (often even those already checked in) encouraging them to check in and get yourself a set time but it is still your choice. The really keen and the experienced put in their calendars when check in is and are the ones often asking which timezone the 12:01 am is in so they can get first choice. One other note is if you booked 1 hour after Celebrity sent you the email, many others could have booked 1 min or even 59 min after and been ahead of you on the selection of the preferred times. My recommendation is to book another cruise and try again - practice makes perfect 🤣
  4. But they only used one!!!!
  5. I would not worry too much about the conversion. I have been on the Panorama which has the pig and anchor as well as the vista which has the red frog. Must admit I liked the layout of the red frog better but it really did not make that much difference. the pig and anchor bar was closer to the entrance so it was a little bit busier. the biggest drawback was the loss of the seats closer to the entrance. In both cases this was not a really busy area so service was always pretty quick.
  6. we did this with the having our kids (late teens) in one cabin and us in the other. we didn't do the extra key just a switch of who was in what cabin at guest services - no issues at all. one tip do the muster drill first. we did the switch first and the new cards didn't work for muster as it takes a bit for all the system to update. they had to get assistance to check us off the muster, not that it was an issue just a bit of a delay.
  7. Not sure where you read that but it is wrong. Have had iced tea in the MDR many times at dinner.
  8. What you are thinking as March break is not the same for all. for many 'march break' starts as early as mid feb and goes all the way to early april. yes there are peaks in that time (mid march for instance) but it does vary a lot, from area to area.
  9. I apologize in advance if it is there but I can not find where this is a violation. Can you point me to where in the celebrity alcohol policy https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/conduct-policy#alcohol-policy. or in the ticket contract / T&C https://www.celebritycruises.com/guest-terms/ where this is?
  10. it is not so much consumed in a bar or dining venue it is getting them to open it when the corkage fee is charged. I would go to a bar get a wine glass (cabin steward can also get) open my wine in my cabin pour a glass and walk around with it, take it to dinner, sit a bar et all. No charge for that.
  11. some years they do but for the last couple it has been the Ireland and Iceland itinerary is all I have seen.
  12. Celebrity often has the excursions available as soon as the sailing is open for booking. so being sold out 6 months in advance is very common.
  13. I have the following info for the shareholder benefit people link to make the request: https://rcg.questionpro.com/a/TakeSurvey?tt=286lFZCRCioECHrPeIW9eQ%3D%3D email: shareholderbenefit@rccl.com But I have not seen a telephone number
  14. I thought that was an art piece and not an actual house. it was only built about 15-20 years ago.
  15. Back then (2008) an upgrade fairy visit was not an uncommon thing but in the past 7-10 years it went from rare to doesn't happen anymore. Now it is all about the upsell fairy. Sure you can get some good upgrades but they make you pay for them. Or you can get the really lucky book a GTY of some sort and come out a big winner (recently I took an ocean view GTY and ended up with a balcony) but that seems to be the rarity. My favourite is book now and receive a free x category upgrade, really they are just selling the slightly higher catagory for the same price as the lower but it sounds good for marketing.
  16. Sounds like we need a whole new thread set up about Rich. I have no experience with him but it sounds like it could be a great read.
  17. I believe they were meaning carryon for the boat not necessarily for the plane (definitely different rules.)
  18. it is more that they have to approve the benefit every year before they can provide it so it has a date to correspond. your booking should not have issues.
  19. would agree to take a pulmonia. in my mind it would not v]be worth the walk, but as a short stop on a pulmonia ride sure. i didn't find the cliff divers too exciting or at all thrilling at least it was a far cry from the ones in Acapulco
  20. heading on the eclipse in a month what made Rich Clesen the worste?
  21. You are correct if the ship is on time and the tour company is right there you should have no issues at all meeting up with them. If you are ready to get off as soon as the ship clears you will probably even be early.
  22. Carnival will give you the new status that you are going to obtain on that cruise at the beginning. So if you are going to gold that cruise you will start out with the gold card and benefits. They are one of the few that do it that way.
  23. It can be true, the times it is usually you are given a meeting point on the ship and then are escorted off before the gangway opens to the regular people. It is usually very true if it is a tender port. At a walk off port I have seen a few times where one gangway is for those with celebrity booked excursions and the other gangway is for those which are not. It has never been a big deal with X for me.
  24. it was on sea days last summer
  25. On the Eclipse, there is a world class bar - YES, looks like I might need to try somethings from there
