  1. We have taken a 1:38 PM non-stop from FLL to IAD (Washington Dulles) the last five times we cruised out of FLL and our biggest issue has been getting to the airport too early. United will not accept your bags until three hours prior to your flight's scheduled departure time. We have had to sit in the terminal, out side of the security area, for over an hour on a couple of occasions before we were able to check out bags. Unfortunately, the only other option is an 8:45 AM flight and while I am pretty sure we could make that, I think it would be too stressful to jump through all the hoops in order to make that flight. The last thing I want to do is end a nice peaceful cruise by going through the stress of trying to make that early of a flight home.
  2. If you have never flown Singapore airline before you are in for a special treat. The best service I have ever received on an airplane.
  3. My wife loves French onion soup. She does not eat the bread or cheese and eats very little of the onion but devours the broth. I have been know to order two Caesar salads when there is no other fresh green vegetable offering that I like being served. On our last cruise I deviated from ordering the burger from the children's menu and ordered the spaghetti and agree. It was delicious. I think I had it once on that cruise and twice on the second leg of our B2B.
  4. I am hearing mixed messages on that. Some say we have lost voucher drinks the morning of debarkation. Some say they are still getting voucher drinks the morning of debarkation. Some say we never had voucher drinks the morning of debarkation. I guess I'll find out in February when we sail on Harmony.
  5. The double points did not enable us to move from Diamond Plus to Pinnacle but it did get us over the 340-350 mark. We received 56 points for sailing in a grand suite on a 7-day B2B in August/September (2x7 = 14 x 2 = 28 X 2 = 56) So we are in that no-where land between 350 points and the 700 needed for Pinnacle. We have no current plans to try and reach Pinnacle.
  6. Concierge Lounge on Deck 12 AFT. A very relaxing venue and love the view of the wake. (just wished they cleaned the windows more often). We preferred this to the wake view found in 270. Coastal Kitchen's proximity to the Windjammer Café. Was very easy to take a stroll through Windjammer prior to dining in Coastal Kitchen in case there was something we really found appealing being served in the café. This was especially helpful for lunch as the lunch menu is repetitive.
  7. I am waiting for someone who is on a sailing affected by this change to state whether or not they could get a vouchered drink on 'debarkation day.'
  8. No it does not. From the order page: Important details and advisements Packages may not be shared, and do not include beverages sold in gift shops, mini-bar or room service.
  9. Yes, that is why I said "sounds like" The verse in the song was "The Eastern world, it is explodin' Violence flarin', bullets loadin' You're old enough to kill, but not for votin' You don't believe in war, but what's that gun you're totin'? And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'" Barry McGuire's Eve of Destruction.
  10. And I forgot to mention that you get free drinks in the Retreat Lounge.
  11. One note to mention, along with access to the Retreat Lounge, you get free drinks while in the lounge without a beverage package. These free drinks do not extend to the Retreat Sundeck and or Luminae.
  12. There have also had these from time to time: Alta Vista Malbec Mouton Cadet Bordeaux Chateau Amour Cr Bourgeois Elk Grove Peniot Gris Elegance Pinot Noir
  13. Oh, if only that was always the case. Unfortunately, I have seen adults in shorts and t-shirt in Luminae for dinner. Not very often but it has happened.
  14. Sounds like the words from a Vietnam era folk rock song.
  15. Correct. Free Internet only comes with full suites on Oasis and Quantum class.
  16. I would have gone back to the LA and informed them that they were incorrect and see if they fixed it. Also would have questioned the Diamond Concierge.
  17. Good point. Guess I could put pants and a shirt on for that. 😞
  18. Indoors on a ship is usually comfortable enough to wear a dry bathing suit inside, despite the outside temperatures.
  19. I'll just wear a bathing suit everywhere, all day, everyday.
  20. I use either my cell phone/tablet or the room phone depending on (1) whether an electrical outlet for my bedside charger is available and or (2) which side of the bed the telephone is on. However, since we are starting to revisit more and more of the same ports and not doing shore excursions that require us to be up and ready to leave the ship early, there are many mornings where we do not even bother with setting an alarm or a wakeup phone call.
  21. Good luck with that. If they don't, please don't let it spoil your cruise.
  22. Definitely was not aware of this. Thanks for educating me. I guess since our kids are in their 40's I have not paid much attention to how prevalent this is across the states.
  23. I have never heard of this. Can you name two? I assume you are talking about in the privacy of their home and not in a bar or restaurant.
  24. Amazing. I bet the people on shore also got a nice view of this as it looks like you were very close to shore.
  25. @Sandi1960 Once your cabin is assigned, you CAN TRY and change to any other cabin in the same category that is open. But it must be the same category within Concierge class.
