  1. And they are the main means of the guest experience. Pressure from both sides.
  2. Carved anything except turkey was rare in Windjammer. Turkey even at breakfast. Desserts are lacking quality and quantity in Windjammer except for last day when they can be put out again 1st day of next. Staff in Windjammer rarely offer drink service unless waved down. Too few of them. We found new menu offers in MDR much smaller and less appetiting. Switched to specility restaurants and loved all those meals.
  3. Tax free. So double it for comparison to land based wages.
  4. @Longfordthinks its funny, but I for one am glad cabin attendants will be making more.
  5. I certainly did not mean it that way. My only point was that waiters and managers in non-cruise ship restaurants are trained much differently than cruise ship staff. That does not mean anyone should not tip wait staff on cruises. Only that imho one can not compare the two different jobs. The training and performance are different.
  6. No one is required to tip more in specialty restaurants. It's never been confirmed how much of the 18% tip in specialty goes to the server vs chef, headwaiter, girl at the door etc. We find if we repeat waiters in specialty the service is way over the top. So we always add to tip.
  7. And now with double the cash tip opportunities and an increase in the number of cabin auto tips and the recent increase in auto tips, its more.
  8. No drink vouchers. Must try to get free ones at the lounge.
  9. Maybe more implied than insisting. You caught me exaggerating. Sorry.
  10. Plus auto grats, right? We normally take $1000 in 1s, 5s, 10s and 20s. We spread it liberally amongst the crew with no regard to quality of services rendered. Normally, of course
  11. Probably. Staff will still expect direct tips included or not.
  12. It has been reported widely here that no one is asked why ever! They probably assume as would make sense that those removing auto grats are tipping cash. In most cases this leads to tipping more than those with only auto.
  13. Do you remove auto grats AND tip cash above the auto grats amount?
  14. Just what so many are reporting. Meaning those who are so proud of just paying pre-paid tips are underpaying in the real world.
  15. It will keep a family of 3 from booking the cabin. Why do people come to CC for permission to cheat?
