  1. This is a big yawner. Everything basically still the same except now the government fees/taxes are differentiated from the actual port fees. Carnival already did show the same total cost before booking.
  2. If you want to test the idea if your husband might have two different accounts, go to Carnival website and do a mock booking and use the"forgot VIFP number" box and input his info and see what comes up. If there is more than one it usually will ask for more detailed information.
  3. Not only that but Carnival has diluted the amount of outstanding shares from around 710 million in 2020 to the current approximately 1.25 billion shares. That is a lot of shares to pay dividends on now.
  4. Carnival does not reload gift cards per their website. I have only received new gift cards as replacement for refunds.
  5. While that room is near the atrium there is a wall to the atrium which shields most if not all the noise from down below. You should be fine there.
  6. Is this still the loss of 25 dollar casino credit thread? Asking for a friend.
  7. Unfortunately the nice hot tub in the gym was removed I believe at the last dry dock. Legend had hers removed a month ago and the last to fall will be the Spirit in Feb 2025. Pictured below is the Spirit hot tub.
  8. I checked out a pic of the aft of Firenze and it makes sense now. The structure that houses Cucina del Capitano and Jijis simply doesn't exist on the Firenze. I had lunch at Cucina del Capitano once on the Panorama and it was quite noisy above with basketball action.
  9. Thanks for all the info. Deck 11 looked good to me also but if it is hot and stuffy I won't be going there. And I don't care for the DJ music either. Looks like I may end up hanging out on deck 5 exterior if they don't open the retractable roof. I have two 5 day cruises back to back in November but at least I booked them when it was dirt cheap. I tried a 3 day on the Radiance last year and it was the most crowded I have ever felt. Deck 9 I felt like a pinball bouncing off people 😉 and the lido restaurant seems small to me compared to Spirit class ships.
  10. Did you like the Firenze? It looks really nice on the YouTube ship tours I have seen.
  11. Seems like Carnival has had more trouble with arrivals since they switched to Cabo being the last stop instead of first. I won't book 7 day cruises this way, leaving Cabo at 2:30 PM is lame imho! When PV is the last stop they have 2 full sea days to get back.
  12. Does anyone know what is on deck 11 in place of Cucina del Capitano and Jijis like on the Panorama? The deck plans just show a grey area with nothing listed.
  13. They did pretty much everything that was done to the Pride with the exception of leaving the card room (some call it the library) intact and creating the Adventures store on deck 3 instead.Poor Legend lost two hot tubs, by the seaside theater and the nice indoor gym hot tub!
  14. Fair enough but as a stock CCL is Carnival Corporation and that is the way I have always interpreted CCL.
  15. Their website would suggest that it is owned by CCL just like Princess is owned by CCL and Holland America. To me CCL is Carnival Corp, the parent company to all of these.
  16. I agree Carnival has the right to do whatever they see fit. However, blaming this on the "casino" is just a game of semantics. Is the Casino not owned by CCL?
  17. I agree Carnival is great with St Jude's. But this was more than just a loss of the 25 dollar casino credit. This was a coordinated move to dilute the VIFP benefits which is their perogative like I said. The donation at entrance to diamond disappeared at the same time so it is what it is.
  18. It was previously listed on the VIFP benefits chart. Maybe someone around here has a copy of the benefits from prior to recent changes.
  19. They are separate limits. The Princess gift cards aren't considered premium so they count against your general limit of 5 gift cards per month which includes all the different types restaurant etc. The Carnival ones are premium and don't affect the 5 count on regular cards.
  20. It is no longer listed on the benefits page of the VIFP club so it is safe to say it may be gone? Or was that line deleted by accident?
  21. It is Carnival's prerogative to do what they want but taking money away from the kids of St Jude's with the one time donation at entrance to diamond level is a bit much. So I guess the cut made by the "casino" just happened at the same time as the platinum drink dilution and the St Jude's cut by mere coincidence.
  22. Not necessarily, I believe they use them for casino deals also. So it may still have gambling value.
