  1. We don’t see that at all where we live. In fact they have actual sales where the price actually goes down from the previous price. Also, unless the ad says “limited quantity’s” or maximum quantities per item, they”ll actually give you a rain check and you came come back anytime within thirty days and get that sale price if they had run out of the item. If there is in fact, some stores that do that, they learned that from the cruise lines.
  2. You call a 40+% increase in price in one year inflation? I call it price gouging to the max. When people stop giving them a pass on everything they do such as ridiculous price increases cutbacks in just about everything, maybe things will get better for the customers. There’s a better chance of the Bears winning the Super Bowl.
  3. How do you know if the debt services increases during the year unless they announce it? Investing is based on what you know and what you speculate will happen. They normally only give their financial information once a quarter, if you wait until then, you might have missed the boat.
  4. Would you care to give your reasoning for the response, or is it just something you just know? I usually explain mine.
  5. Doesn’t product performance dictate the bottom line? During the quarter people guess at the bottom line, if the prediction is positive, the stock price goes up, if the prediction is negative, the price goes down. When the final numbers are released, if not close to prediction, the price will change again. The next quarter starts, and the game starts again.
  6. What’s the difference in my saying in the future and you calling it down the road?
  7. Stock price is based on what the market thinks the product will do in the future, not what it’s doing now or in the past. About 74% of RCL stock is owned by institutional investors who buy stock to make money, not just a token obc. Keep that in mind when deciding to buy or sell. If the obc is a good enough reason to own it, stand pat. As easy as that.
  8. I compare it to one of those window washing scaffolding that permanently hangs from the side of a building in the big cities.
  9. Every restaurant doesn’t mark up their liquor as high as RC, at least the ones we frequent. In fact MSC didn’t pre pandemic. We drink mostly beer and we can get a 16oz tap for $3.60 including tip, at happy hour. The most we pay anywhere else is $5.40 tip included, that’s for a 12 oz bottle. If I remember right, it around $10 on the ship. If we have a cocktail, which happens rarely, is about $8 including tip. If you what to bring at home into play, around the holidays I get the 12oz. beer for $.60 each, tax included. It’s been a long time since I had to buy a bottle of booze so I can’t comment on the price comparison.
  10. They are just like politicians, they tell you what you want to hear but do not act on it, especially when money is involved. Keep track of the promises and check back in six months to see what has changed, for the positive. That list will be very short, unless the bookings or extras drop of dramaticly.
  11. This is the way it used to be in Las Vegas many years ago. Everybody was seated by the Maitre’d or equivalent. You got in line extra early to get a good seat. The more you gave, the better seat you got. We have friends that went there a lot and said $20 or so, would get you center stage, pretty close to the front, this was in the mid 1970s though.
  12. As long as people keep throwing their money at them, it’ll only get worse. Turn off the money flow and you would be amazed how fast things would change. If you keep on feeding the pot, at least stop complaining, if you’re paying attention, it does absolutely no good but cause animosity on these boards.
  13. If you would have looked farther you would have seen that Jassy received no stock grant for 2022, due to stock performance so his total compensation was indeed a measly $1.3 million. I can find dozens of posts on Google, from highly respected people, and businesses who say exactly the same thing. The stock grant is in his account but frozen, he can’t touch it for ten years. If he leaves within ten years I don’t what happens to the grant I don’t think you missed these points, you just ignored them because they didn’t support your narrative.
  14. These numbers come from the 2022 Proxy Statement Amazon filed with the Federal Government and shared with it’s shareholders.
  15. There is no mention of port fees, just tips. If there are port fees, they paid you to take the cruise. Unless you stiffed them for the tips, I stand by my post
  16. 100% correct. If you don’t believe it, Google it. Did you know, the President and founder of Amazon is Jeff Bezos. The previous year the CEO got $200 million in stock options but that wasn’t part of the original post.
  17. This is almost too easy, executives get paid per employee? For example, Amazon’s President, total compensation was $1.6 million, and its CEO made $1.3 million total compensation for 2022. With me so far? Amazon’s worldwide employee number was 1,541,000 (yes, million). No matter how hard I try, I can’t get it come to $100 per employee for either one.
  18. Do the math, tips alone for the 16 day cruise is $256 which leave $93, or less than $6 per day for the cruise. If it’s 18 days the tips $288 which leaves $61 or less than $3.40 per day for the cruise.
  19. Only you can determine if it’s a good price or not. If It was my money I wouldn’t be soliciting advice from perfect strangers who’s financial situation might be drastically different than yours, and have nothing at risk with their opinion.
  20. Number of employees have very little to do with CEO’s compensation. Here’s something to think about, This CEO’s compensation is 365 times the average worker so he makes more in one day than the average worker makes in a year. Google it if you don ‘t believe it.
  21. Would like more details on the 14 days cruises you took for $1,000 for two. That’s less than $37 per day per person. Tax, fees, and tips would probably suck up most or all of it.
  22. As long as bookings are up and pricing is high, you’re wasting your time complaining to anybody. When’s the last time they did anything significant based on just complaining? The only thing that gets their attention is $$$$$. If you continue to throw your money ar them, you’re invisible to them.
  23. If you read it closely, the UAW President did say it would consider a total shutdown. I just stated what I think they should do bring this to a head sooner. If they want to pussyfoot around and drag it out for possibly several months, be my guest. I don’t use the three auto makers product, so theirs no skin off my nose either way.
  24. The longer this is drawn out, the more money the union will payout. It also allows the car companies to bring money to exist longer. Go Big Or Go Home, Shut the whole operation down, you’ll get their attention a lot quicker and it’ll show you mean business. Even if the event the whole industry shuts down they’ll be layoffs. With nothing running, how many from the executive branch will be out of work? FYI, in 2022 the executives were paid $71,000,000 in salary, stock options, etc. When I was working I was a salaried employee with no union ties. I just think the UAW has been jerked around long enough.
