  1. I have Cricket that uses At&T....so I definately will check this out. Thanks so much!
  2. I realize there is no cell service on the ship....but once we dock is Bermuda too far away to get a cell signal to call home in the states? I am leaving my disabled brother with my son and I really need some connection other than wifi emails. Thanks!
  3. So you are saying there is NO POOL in the vibe??? Yikes! What's the point of it then. We can hang out on our balcony if all we want it do is lounge around. A pool would justifiy the cost.
  4. I could be wrong but the upcharges are usually $25...which in my opinion is high but oh well.
  5. Well...we can always count on that. ha!
  6. So do we have to watch the one they send us as well as the one on the ship? That seems like over kill.
  7. We are heading for Bermuda on May7th on the Prima....I wonder if we will get an email too. The only thing I heard there was to do there was to tour a WWII ship that is right there at the port. I'l like to do that but if not that's OK too.
  8. I would think your passport picture would be enough...I mean how many pictures do they need? I am going to take a pic of my passport and be done with it. I don't look any different now then I did when that was taken.
  9. Isn't pickelball basically like "table tennis" without the table?
  10. In the past we always ordered 1 app, 1 soup, 1 salad, 1 meal and 1 dessert. Now it's "soup OR salad" not both. Seems a little petty to me since we always got both before. We never order 2 of any menu item simpye because we can't eat all that, but I know some people do.
  11. You do know that many people have to find blame with YOU if you accuse NCL of ANTHING at all. So pay them no mind. You weren't complaing about NCL, you were just making a point that people need to be cautious if they are high risk ect. I knew when I read your post what you meant and that you were just narrowing it all down. In the end....you were trying to be helpful. I don't know what's wrong people anymore.
  12. I don't know....but the word "steerage" always makes me think about the people who were stuck below deck on the "titanic". Can't we just call it something more dignified? How about what it actually is which is anything below "club balconies".....so let's call it "balconys"...seems simple enough.
  13. "Bird" gave me an answer to that and he has cruised on Prima a few times. He said the last time there were jets in the spa pool. There were none in the begining of Prima's first cruises due to parts they needed for it if I remember right. But it's working now. I had the same question as you because I don't want to get a pass for it if there are no jets.
  14. I can't imagine how many resources like cleaning supplies etc they use just by turning your bed down and maybe leaving a towel animal. Yes, some rooms require a little extra like pulling out sofabeds but how many of those are there really? Their excuses for this is mighty lame. I personally do not need turndown service, I can turn my own bed down, but I do like my ice bucket filled twice a day and fresh towels.....this brings to mind the many tmes I could not find a room steward anywhere near our cabin to get me ice.
  15. New cruisers and those who are new to cruise critic.... likely are genuinely amazed....
  16. LOL...I got all excited when I saw this, "2nd guest free". I called to have my rate adjusted and discovered that my original rate is less than this sale with both of us being charged. So I asked her how this can be. She said that they raised the price for one person so they can advertise the second one for free but NCL is still getting the same rate, just making you think you are getting something..essentially you are not getting the second guest free.
  17. I'd fly in the day before myself and tell hubby you will send pics of "sail away" and get him some souvenirs.
  18. Awesome....thanks for the pics!
  19. I am wondering if the pools are jetted yet? Last I read they did not have jets! Are there ANY jets in any of the pools in the spa that you noticed? I'd like to book a pass but not sure I want to do it if there are no jets?
  20. Thank you for all that detail. We like going to shows but it's not a deal breaker for us. We find things to do and like you we are more morning people. I was just concerned that this would a very crowed ship but as you described it I think we will enjoy it none the less. Thanks again!
  21. Our cruise will be docked in Bermuda for 3 days. I know the casinos are not open until 9PM but will there still be shows in the early evening?
  22. Thanks...we are out of NYC so I don't that package is offered by NCL. Enjoy your trip!
  23. We have a precruise package as well and we had it the last time we cruised. Their transportation left the hotel according to the ships departure time...allowing for several hours. We got to port at !0:30AM. No biggy for us because I really don't want to sit at port for hours. May I asked what hotel you booked your package so I can compare the pricing of ours? We are booked at Hampton Inn Ridgeway with the "park, stay and go" package which includes the room, breakfast, and drop off and pick up at the port. for $331.25. Hubby does not like driving in NYC and we want to make sure we are there on time so this is what works best for us.
  24. We are booked for May 7th as well....I think I am going to set foot on this ship with a positive frame of mind and try to not let these negatives affect our experience. My only wish was that they had more dates towards the end of May for Bermuda because the last time we went the first week in May the weather was crappy, cold and raining except for one day that was just OK. Closer to June it gets warmer. I want to go to Horseshoe Bay beach so we shall see if it's warm enough.
  25. I appreciate your take on this ship and all the pictures which I found interesting and helpful. Actually I am not a fan of the Breakaway class ships. I could not wait to get off that ship....Too many people. So the smaller Prima may be more to our liking. We are not pool people so the smaller pool is not an issue for us either. Like others have said I think people not comfortable with "change" might be an issue for some of the bad reviews I was concerned with. I purposely booked Prima due to it being different so in the end I think we will like it and as of now I'm going to think positive. Thanks for your input.
