  1. I don't have many issues with the MDR menu other than the limited side dishes. Could it get any more limited and boring! I do see where NCL has inserted Cagney's extra cost steaks for an upcharge. I suspect there will be more upcharge items in the future and that's OK as long as they don't keep removing the free items.
  2. I do not have the Premium FAS beverage package...just the regular one. I know that champagne is not included. However if I want a glass do I pay the difference or full price?
  3. This will be our first cruise for many years....but I do recall, not sure if it ws NCL, there were light snacks in the buffet area up until 11 PM or so. YEars ago there was a midnight buffet and a chocolate buffet which was glorious. Knowing this we may take extra tupperware and zip locks to grab a few things to take to our room early on. I will grab a dish of fruit, cheeses, and something sweet. I think we pay enough for our cruise that late night food should be available.
  4. Possibly....and if that happens it may cause people to not choose the FAS beverage package. If that happens it may make them raise the limit. Who knows. I select the Free At Sea beverage option but I don't drink enough to go over board with my $$$ ordinarily at home so I wouldn't do that on a cruise either. I would likely skip the the FAS option and just buy a few drinks here and there outright.
  5. Enjoy your cruise and save some of that sun for us ....we will be a week behind you.
  6. Thank you for posting that .....I went and checked and one person posted a picture using this in a Hamiton Beach. She had to remove something to make it fit and then said it took forever for the coffee to drip through. So I canceled my order and will stick with the paper pods.
  7. They also have this one that you can rinse out and use over and over......I just bought this. https://www.amazon.com/Melitta-Padfilter-Refillable-Coffee-Ecopads/dp/B000QDNIKU/ref=pd_bxgy_vft_none_sccl_2/132-9968700-9167154?pd_rd_w=ZnSB0&content-id=amzn1.sym.7f0cf323-50c6-49e3-b3f9-63546bb79c92&pf_rd_p=7f0cf323-50c6-49e3-b3f9-63546bb79c92&pf_rd_r=ZY7GVRRMMG82HSE16FCP&pd_rd_wg=9Qy5N&pd_rd_r=29542cbd-d503-4379-815a-270859fa17c7&pd_rd_i=B000QDNIKU&psc=1
  8. Keep in mind that sailing our NYC the end of April could mean cool weather for a few days there and back. I am assuming you are going to Bermuda. We are booked on Prima for May7th to Bermuda and so we are prepared for the cooler weather if need be. However if the hot tubs are good and hot the cool weather might not be an issue for you. We got an upgrade offer from our balcony for a Spa balcony and I wanted to bid on it but it's on deck 16 and when I did a search the available cabins are under the "speedway" on deck 17. So I decided to keep our balcony and not bid. Like you...I am not all that concerned about most of the complaints.
  9. We are in a balcony cabin for May 7th on Prima. We just got our offer for upgrading and it encluded ALL the cabins above ours. I was thinking about bidding for a Spa Balcony but I am not so sure I like the location on the 16th floor. The bid was up to $200 per person. I was going to bid $100. Not likely to get accepted but you never know.
  10. Well that's not bad at all...they should consider it.
  11. Well even if there is a bed in the 2nd bedroom I gather she'd have to pay full price for her because the price of a Haven cabin is "per person".....the extra cost would be considerably more than a solo cabin is my guess. If not then I don't see the problem here.
  12. "whatever floats YOUR boat"! What other people do with their time on their vacation or anywhere for that matter does not affect my life one bit. In fact, it puts a smile on my face to see people with a mind of their own doing their own thing...I remember years ago when some people got extremely focused on what people were wearing in the restaurants. Sad to think that someones pair of jeans caused so much of a fuss. But, being true to my own convictions, if you want to spend your cruise time focusing on other people and it brings you joy to do so.... then go for it.
  13. Yes it's the Prima, deck 16 spa balconies....I have a feeling I am not going to put a bid on this offer. We have a midship family balcony on deck 10 right now and there are no issues with above or below us on that cabin. I was thinking on deck 16 there is a possibility of being below the "race track" and we'd be hearing those race car motors all day long. Not that we are in our cabin all day but I don't think it would be a peaceful time out on the balcony.
  14. Yeah...sorry I should have mentioned that. It is the Prima....and they don't assign the cabins when they make this offer. That gets done later so you have no idea where it's gonna be.
  15. We just got an email from NCL that offered us an upgrade from our Family Balcony to basically any of the cabins above that catagory. The only one that seems affortable to us was the "Spa Balcony"on deck 16 mid ship. Has anyone been on deck 16 spa balcony? My concern is "what's above us" on deck 17. It looks like the "raceway" not totall sure. Anyone with info for that location of cabins? Oh and do you think the Spa balcony is worth going for. The upgrade was only $100 per person.
  16. Yikes .....all those boosters and you still ended up very sick. Sorry to hear that
  17. I certainly would enjoy that over a big production show.....but I am not going to enjoy standing like sardines in there to see it or do I want to spend an hour in a line full of people. I love dueling pianos too but on our Prima cruise in May there are NO pianos. Such a simple inexpensive form of entertainment that would enhance the activities onboard.
  18. yes....it would not let me check out. It had the time I wanted available, I added it to my cart but then it would not let me complete it. When I went on CS chat they said that time was not available. Oh well...I will do it onboard. Their online system leaves a lot to be desired.
  19. After making dining reservations ONLINE for our May 7th cruise on Prima I wanted to make some changes to it. You cannot do it online you have to call or chat online to make any changes. So I started a chat. I wanted to change my Hudson's reservations that I already had for 5:30 for a party of 2. I wanted to change it for a party of 3 or 4. She said she would have to cancel the original one and the time and the only times she had left was 7:30 or 8:30. Essentially I had to cancel and rebook losing my time slot.............so chatting or calling them does not help. Also, I was unable to book a Hudson's for a different day which gave me a 6:30 time which was good but then tried to complete the order and it would not go through. I've been tryng for 3 days and nothing. So I tried to do that with the chat I was having and she said there were only 7:30 time slots for that day. Ugh.....they showed earlier times ONLINE but not when chattting. So essentially I will have to make all my changes once on board. Just thougth I'd mention this in case anyone thought calling or chatting made any difference in booking reservations. It does not.
  20. Totally remember all of that. ALthough I don't miss the creaking of the ship. ha! We had to reserve our towels and deck chairs and were assigned ONE spot for the whole cruise and that was on the back of the ship where they did the skeet shooting. I have to say the MDR meals were very elegant and the midnight buffet was awesome. We also had a celebration on deck on our last sea day and there was a buffett all over the pool deck in the afternoon. Oh and lets not forget the "chocolate buffet" at night after dinner. Wonder what ever happened to that.
  21. A "Back to the Future" cruise for 2004....now that will be very entertaining!
  22. I had an issue yesterday and today trying to make a restaurant reservation. It would not let me check out. So I will wait till Monday and see if they fixed it.
  23. I guess the word "efficient" means something different to me. I'm thinking that say for instance they employ less room stewards to make up the rooms...........this would mean it takes longer to get the rooms cleaned............thus "less efficient". Hiring less bartenders, thus one bartender versus 2 means he is servicing the same amount of people and creating a very less efficient experience for the customer. However....I can see where it all translates into profit, but certainly not more efficient to me.
  24. Hmm....then what's the point of them? Maybe you just have to go to customer service desk and ask about them and find out how to ensure you get them....like the 50% off of a laundry bag.
