  1. You do realize that to reach P cruising in regular accommodations you need to spend many more nights cruising (o horror!) ? Twice as many. And in a process they spend money aside from cruisefare. Also real suites which cost way more than regular accommodations have many more perks from the beginning than D. Is every level a lifetime? Hardly. Maybe between D+ and P. But … this conversation tells me some people really like cruising.
  2. It’s just so many people are reaching statuses they will need to dedicate half of the ship soon. Technically we are putting our money and time because we want nice vacation aren’t we? Does anyone really go on cruise with RCI specifically to reach higher levels?
  3. Many cars are parked in Baltimore.. including ours. Otherwise I’d have hoped for Bayonne.
  4. I appreciate your sense of humor, but again, airport is for several hours. Still it is a torture. Not sure why if it does not affect you (read away from the public) "public" should dictate how it is should be done.
  5. I agree about areas being away from public, but disagree about bolded text. It is completely different processes and I do not think other people should make a decision for people.
  6. I used to smoke a lot, but could never do this in enclosed places. For the same reason I hated casinos. So no, not everyone likes to be in “gas chambers”. I remember there were some places away from crowds … although I noticed that some people go out of their way to “inhale and complain”.
  7. Not every day, but on some days. We are not really interested in them so we are OK if they are not made at all. If we had kiddo and wanted them daily we would probably tip them to do it more often.
  8. We learned hard lesson when I suddenly had bad heartburn. Not only prices, but not everything is available.
  9. Agree about meds, especially after being through 3 Covids (5 among us), 1 illness similar to Flu or RSV and 1 Noro on board in the last 3 years. So Robitussin DM cough and congestion, NyQuil/DayQuil, Imodium... and some other stuff. Not fun!!!
  10. Powerbank to charge devices away from stateroom Backpack to comfortably carry things to pool and beach.
  11. Well... we are cruise addicts (61 and counting in 20 years)... but we switched from A/I and other vacations to go to various places, so I am glad that this place we visit often (we sail from NJ so at least 1 time a year we are there) is improving. Other people should have this information too as much as I want to keep Nassau to myself. 🙂
  12. Nassau is completely rebuilt now. No bottlenecks, piers are enlarged. Port area is completely different.
  13. Thank you for this report. We have not stopped at Labadee since 2019. I think I see some updates, but maybe I missed them last time? It was rainy. Nice places to take photos with a word Labadee.
  14. If you are planning to work not in your room bring some powerbank or something. Ships don’t have many power outlets.
  15. I’m not making excuses. I’m making a point that menus that you saw when you coyld open it didn’t make sense, so they removed it. 🙂 We cruise 5 times a year for many years including one cruise from Baltimore a year, so I noticed it long time ago. For my upcoming cruise on March 23rd I could see a menu some times ago, but it was not menus we would be having. What is a point of showing menu that you most likely won’t have or will have it by pure coincidence? You can see this menu by opening current sailing.
  16. Well.. as long as you know that you were seeing not your real menu, but from current cruise that’s is fine. They probably took it off, because people were confused why on their 12 day upcoming cruise there was nothing after day 8. Or why on their 8 day cruise there won’t be a lobster (lobster is severed on day #11 which isn’t on current 8 dayer). Maybe they planned additional dining based on what they saw and after getting on board realized menus were different and complained.
  17. You can see current sailing on Vision. But it’s 8 dayer. If your cruise will be 8 dayer then that’s what you will have. If menu on your cruise were available to you now (like it’s configured on Quantum, Oasis classes) you wouldn’t see a real menu for your cruise. You would see a current menu which can be different as Vision does 8 and 12 dayers. This would be obvious to you as for day 8 of your 12 dayer you would see Bon Voyage (last day menu) and nothing after.
  18. Oh, don’t worry, they won’t stay in Haiti for long.
  19. I wonder why they decided to remove open air seating after Windjammer. It was a nice spot.
  20. I recommend arriving for ice show early.
  21. We switched from A/I to cruises completely, but during pandemic went to Iberostar in Riviera Maya twice. It was their middle of the pack Iberostar Paraiso Selection Lindo hotel. It was nice… but I miss ships smaller scale entertainment and visiting various places (that’s why switched to cruises).
  22. Upcoming in 20 days cruise will be our #62. #31 with RCI. 50:50. So we know other lines pretty well. Before 2016 we had only 5 RCI cruises out of 26… Then gradually we started cruising more and more with Royal until we switched completely (after pandemic). We were not loyal.. and I don’t understand why would anyone be. However Royal works the best in terms of choices of ships/itineraries for our 5 cruises a year. We don’t need to fly. Ships sailing out of Bayonne are nice, and smaller ships out of Baltimore do great 12 dayers to Southern Caribbeans. C&A benefits are enjoyable. We have 6 booked and are planning for more, but of course if they will become unaffordable we will think what is the best for us. I’m not sure we will go back to other lines as I don’t see better choices from Northeast. Maybe we will do 4 a year and camp even more from May to October as we have RV van now. 🙂
