  1. We had 4 in 2021, 5 in each 2022, 2023 and 2 in 2024 and one on Celebrity Edge Anthem, Liberty, Oasis, Enchantment, Vision I admit we do not cruise for gourmet experience, but we do not eat in Golden Corral types of establishments on land either. As long as there is a selection of seafood, escargot, stake, salmon, etc we are happy. I often skip entries and eat 2-3 starters. 🙂 On our recent Vision cruise we had amazing Osso buco. Things like this is a nice bonus. Enjoy cruising! My parents are not big fans of cruises, but occasionally take one to explore various regions. Out of Princess, NCL and Royal they preferred Princess in terms of food. Recently they sailed with Oceania and said that food was fabulous.
  2. We started cruising with Royal in 2004 and never found food to be consistent. In fact first four cruises 2004 Splendor, 2007&2009&2010 Explorer food was I think weaker than now. Overall menus have changed, but it’s still very good food. We never considered RCI to be a line with great food, but always find nice dishes
  3. Norwegian is different line. They are not re-using names for their ships on a regular base. Yes, PoA was never really fully built so they used it for another ship. Princess, Holland America and now Carnival re-use names. I do not have any pros or cons this practice.
  4. We sailed on Splendor and I think Splendor & Legend were somewhat different than the rest of them. Viking Crown lounge was more to the middle and there was mini golf behind it. It’s also interesting that class is called Vision when Vision ship is one of the youngest. It’s like calling Oasis class Utopia class. 🙂
  5. I wish they reused Splendor of the Seas rather than used Star of the Seas … I think Holland America and Princess started reusing names first.
  6. On Vision concierge in Crown lounge was there till 11 and from 4 pm onwards
  7. Information about Flag of convenience https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_convenience
  8. He was just on Vision... which went to dry dock this week.
  9. Yes. He was on Vision with us in March (23rd). We loved him!!! So talented. Whole lounge entertainment performers were amazing!
  10. Servers do their jobs pretty well from our experience and if not this is not because of small performances 😉 Royal's experience is pretty much entertainment experience just like other similar family lines. This does not happen on Celebrity, Holland, Cunard.
  11. We witnessed it on several ships when dined during assigned early/late times (not MTD, but sometimes it coincides). It is cute. Does not bother us at all, but I can understand people with sensory issues. I cannot imagine how people with such issues survive on ships...
  12. It is a limited passport you cannot use to fly, but for identification purpose it is a passport. There are several situation 1. Ship leaves (they will make sure port has your passport) 2. You need passport as identification as authorities do not accept other documents.. In this case passport card should work as your id.
  13. We are pros at watching our stuff. 62 cruises, many-many trips abroad including overseas. It is not that difficult. We do not want to lose our documents (passports, DL etc) or money. So we watch them. No different really than in any city here where we do the same.
  14. Passport card is basically a passport. So I guess people need to order both. We never had them. My husband has OCD about all docs, so he has all kind of belts to carry docs as close as possible, but card is definitely a good idea.
  15. Exactly. You never know when you need it. I remember seeing a couple in Venice on vaparetto (water taxi) and local police wanted to see their passports. In Germany suddenly they wanted to see our passports in casino. 🙂
  16. There are various situations when you may need it. Why chance it? This is our logic.
  17. We use Cape Liberty Cruise Port in google maps. There is only one port which has only 1 terminal. Parking garage is adjacent to the port building.
  18. We always carry our passports aside from private islands.
  19. Odyssey is almost as perfect as Anthem where family pool is covered! I wish Odyssey had this too. Oh well. We will enjoy Odyssey this and upcoming years.
  20. I suppose many things are possible on the ship. Including camping on open decks or preparing own food, but such things are not supposed to be accommodated. With separated beds it’s listed as an available for request. Duties of stewards do not include switching places for sofa and bed. It’s difficult will invoke additional wear and tear. (I'm sure there are other problems that are difficult to predict)
  21. 62 cruises with 8 lines, and this is the first time I read about such request. Only requests are to separate beds. I’d think some furniture is attached to the floor… and overall, why should this be accommodated. Why not book a cabin with desired configuration?
