I have to admit we do not eat at the beach. We are either there after breakfast or after lunch for about 4-5 hours. (We rarely eat at Coco Cay too. Maybe 1 funnel cake 🙂 )

We go to Junkanoo lately on average twice a year since 2019. Me and my husband. Literally NOBODY hounds us. Never ever. We used to feel a bit uncomfortable in port itself when it was old and crowded... and Nassau was different too, just like Junkanoo. Back then we usually used taxi to get to Atlantis or Cabbage beach on Paradise Island. Not anymore. Of course if we have less people on Junkanoo it will be even more appreciated. 🙂

Utopia now arriving at Port Canaveral!!

At $66 pp we are walking to Junkanoo for free. $10-$15 two chars (not longer) by the water for several hours is fine for us, I am glad for all people who won’t be afraid of Nassau anymore though. 🙂

I just give my card to my husband when we are in pool area or during evenings. He brings drinks for me. If I didn’t use all my drinks he could.

Table number is never assigned for My Time Dining before cruise and never put on cruise key card. ”Anytime Dining” is not a term on Royal Caribbean International. It’s Princess’s term. Table number is not assigned for MTD or Anytime Dining on both lines. Why are you saying things that cannot possibly be true?

Sailed on Anthem 11 times (7 since Covid) and nobody asked us to give them 10. We were asked on some other ships, but not Anthem.

Welcome to Cruise Critic. Something doesn’t add up. If you have MyTime Dining you couldn’t have table number on your card. With MTD you don’t have reserved table. If you have a table this means you have traditional dining at the same time/table/waiter and you don’t need to wait.

Shows currently on Adventure of the Seas
Tatka replied to kearney's topic in Royal Caribbean International
On Oasis, Quantum and some Freedom class ships like Liberty (Saturdays Night Fever). We have not sailed on Adventure for several years. Sailed in 2018 (Bahamas/Florida), 2019 (NE/Canada) and 2022 (NE/Canada)... and we overall enjoyed entertainment. Ice show was very good. Also ship orchestra was great. Very talented orchestra conductor. Overall we had very nice cruises on her. -
Double points t applied to all booking made before September 30th 2021 for years 2021 and 2022. By 2012 we had 4 cruises with RCI. We lost about 7 points during conversion as our 9, 9 and 10 cruises counted as 1 credit (7 points). Since 2016 we started cruising more and more with Royal, but still cruised with all other lines... Became D in 2018 and D+ in 2022. Nice itins from NJ "switched" us to RCI completely. If nothing bad will happen we will become P in 8 years or so. This is not our main dream... we are good with just sailing and being D+ now.

Well... if you are not prone to seasickness and you don't hit storms. We are not prone... but once we booked GTY (on Princess) and ended up in the very aft of the ship on the highest deck. We still were not sick, but experience was more than interesting. We literally were rolling in our beds all the time. 🙂

I’m really surprised D+ member isn’t familiar with this system. Level has nothing to do with cabin assignments. Also if you think about it from the business standpoint … who do they need to impress and hook? You or new customers? As a loyal customer you already have bunch of benefits. Another point… better for you and for company can be two different thing. We never book GTY insides as if we may get “better” outside rooms on lowest decks.

Princess was our #1 overall out of 8 lines. It offered the best seafood, fun (without being cheesy), later free internet at Platinum... but Royal grew on us with great solariums, better choices out of Northeast... and later D perks. Our last cruise with them was on Crown for New Year 2020. It was side by side 5 days on Explorer of the Seas for Christmas and 10 days on Crown for New Year. We fully expected Princess to beat Explorer and be a way better cruise, We were hugely surprised when Explorer ended up to be a better ship in terms of food, entertainment and ship's maintenance.

Probably a mistake. We were on 11, 12 and 7 dayers this year and this never happened.
-
Interesting. What menus did you have? Herb crusted salmon is on one or two. Salmon is on most, but with various crusts.
-
Do you remember the names of menus? Each should have unique name (since 2023)

Correction… apparently A Taste of Royal History and A Taste of Classic are two different menus. So here we have 14 menus. Welcome Aboard A Taste of France … Italy … USA … UK … Mexico … Mediterranean … Caribbean … Asia … Classic … Royal History … The World Royal Night Bon Voyage (5 cruises a year with Royal do this to you 🙂 )
-
There are 14 menus. To all looking at menus now … you are seeing current cruise menus. 11 day cruise will most likely feature Welcome Aboard A Taste of France A Taste of Italy A Taste of Mexico A Taste of USA A Taste of UK A Taste of Caribbean A Taste of Mediterranean A Taste of Asia Royal Night Bon Voyage First two and last two in this order. Other menus: A Taste of Royal Classics, A Taste of the World. Forgot 14th

Thank you for a very interesting insight. We were never loyal to Royal till after pandemic. Cruised with 8 lines for about 17 years. We dropped Carnival after 3 honest tries as we felt some mismatch in ambiance. Just wasn’t our thing at all. But I’m always interested to see what other people think. I think Carnival came along way in better designing their ships so it’s not 1000+ kids gathered to watch Hairy chest or gross foods contests.

Intense Show in Aqua Theater
Tatka replied to memphocruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Daughter of my friend is participating…. she is top notch high diver and performed on Symphony before. She was jumping from the highest point. I cannot imagine RCI contracted her to perform on Wonder if high jumps were not needed. -
We LOVED Dynamic Dining when there was 4 main restaurants with 100% different cuisines. However food is not our #1 priority anymore ... the less the better. It takes me tons of effort to stay in shape with 5 cruises a year. 🙂 From what I remember our main issues on our #1 and #2 cruises on Anthem was crowds control. At that time Coco Cay was still tendering. It was fixed later and we learned how to cook Anthem. Very important thing in this discussion is climate. We cruise Quantum class for Thanksgiving, And to deep Caribbeans in January. Out of Bayonne. You cannot find better ships to do this from that port.. Vision class out of Baltimore in March ... 12 days ... to deep Caribbeans. Well some issues, but this ship is also good for sailing out of colder climates. Indoor Solarium and nice views from Centrum and VCL Oasis class is perfect for May/June out of Bayonne Voyager/Freedom class for late August - September is great for NE/Canada ... I wish it had covered Solarium... but some parts are... It has something larger ships don't. Viking Crown Lounge... and most still have Crown club there too. We

This bar is perfect on Vision class (and probably Radiance class). On every larger ship it has own unique issues. On Voyager and Freedom class ships, the space is rather small, with a bar inconveniently placed that obstructs the view of the scene On Quantum class it is actually pretty good after soundproofing Music Hall.. I do not like people constantly passing through that area though. On Oasis class we mostly use chairs close to a platform overhanging the promenade where musical groups perform and rarely to listen Schooner performers...

I did not like Anthem in 2016, but when RCI figured out crowd control it became WAY more enjoyable and we sailed 10 more times. We LOVE Anthem's solarium!!! Bolero's, Music Hole, Two70 etc. I am not sure Odyssey is superior to Anthem. Playmakers is not something we desire... but absence of a roof over family pool can be a problem for families and even for us Solarium users (it will be colder in Solarium and probably more crowded) We enjoyed although rarely open area behind Windjammer which is now absent We liked Virtual balconies on Anthem ... and Odyssey does not have many But we will know better in November and onward.

Only on Quantum (1 show) and up shows are reservable. Not on others. You can just show up. You will find spaces.
