  1. CO gets you priority access to the tenders. Can save you a lot of time getting on and off of the ship.
  2. HAL could have a page on their site that isn't indexed and so search wouldn't find it. People could have received a link to that page. We don't know if the error was from the Admin saying HAL said they would fix the website or if HAL has a non-indexed site that we can't find with search. We're all just speculating. To me the bottom line is that, at least so far, the policy remains pay the difference.
  3. I'm just going on what was posted by the other site's Admin saying HAL said they would fix the website. Could have been that they sent out a link to the website? Who knows?
  4. Doesn't seem like the OP on the other site had any malicious intent since HAL has stated they will be fixing the website. Looks to me like HAL screwed up.
  5. @The-Inside-CabinThank you so much for adding the Excursion detail to your post. That's very helpful in case I have the opportunity to book the same excursion. Really appreciate it.
  6. Nevermind. Has been confirmed with HAL that they made an error and it will be corrected.
  7. I posted a link to your thread in a live thread for the Westerdam. Hoping someone on that cruise will comment.
  8. Here's a screen shot of the blurb from https://rogerjett-photography.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Ocean-Bar-Menu-2024.pdf
  9. Can anyone currently on this cruise comment on this thread about a possible change to the HIA beverage policy?
  10. Thanks for clarifying. Looks like we're going to be on the same tour in September.
  11. Thank you for the info and links to your excursion options. Looks like this is the one you did? Looks nice, but isn't an option on our cruise.
  12. Is this the Haines tour you took? If so, how 'small' was the small group? This is the HAL excursion we're taking on the 53 day Majestic Japan tour in Sept so just curious if it's the same one and if you have any other comments about how it went.
  13. Great to hear this. Where on the ship do they play?

  15. He said he would check my reservation and make sure I was getting the lowest price and all of the available benefits.
  16. Just realize that you are depriving the PCC of a commission if you don't book with the PCC. I booked online and then asked the PCC a question. He was very nice and helpful, but he asked that in the future I reserve online and then contact him to do the booking since he gets a commission. I didn't know that and felt bad. If I ever book another HAL cruise I will go through my PCC.
  17. I applied AARP to a booking about 2 months after the booking was made. Did you do the AARP verification on the HAL website and receive a SheerID verification email? IF not, that's your first step. Then wait about a week and ask HAL for a booking confirmation and the OBC should show on the booking confirmation. It was all automagic in my experience.
  18. The Big Eagle is probably a female. They are larger than the males. Did your cruise have any HAL Excursions available? Our Majestic Japan cruise in Sept has no excursions at Dutch Harbor, so just curious.
  19. @The-Inside-Cabin is there any Classical Music on the Westerdam for this cruise?
  20. I went to the HAL AARP page (link below), clicked the Verify tab and entered the requested info. HAL verified the info and came back with a screen saying info verified (suggest you take a screen shot of that verification page in case there is any question later.) I talked to our PCC about something else, and at that time asked if he could verify the AARP OBC. He said it takes about a week to show up so he sent himself a reminder to check in a week. A week later PCC sent us a booking confirmation showing the OBC had been added. Exclusive AARP Member Offer | Holland America Line
  21. Thanks! I was thinking the limit was $13, but you're correct it's, $11. But it will be worth it for me to get a souvenir shot glass on my next voyage for 50 cents. I'll have to remember to do it, that's always the challenge.
  22. @The-Inside-Cabin Thanks for posting the menu. Just want to confirm this is MDR for everyone (not CO or other?) Anyone know: Is the drink in the souvenir shot glass at no extra charge with the Signature Beverage package?
  23. Call HAL with the confirmation numbers for both reservations. They can link your reservations together. We did this and were in the same groups for excursions even when there were multiple different groups heading out on the same excursion.
  24. Here's the standard bar menu that includes prices of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. https://rogerjett-photography.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Standard-Bar-Menu-2024.pdf
  25. HAL uses Coke products. I saw Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite, but there may be more. They do not have the freestyle machines.
