  1. I need to hang with you more. You have much more interesting times than I do.
  2. NCL only allows for two day deviations which is what OP received. Only way to get two days in London is to cancel NCL flights and book your own.
  3. IMHO, liver is a waste of good cat food.
  4. The surcharge for the beef filet at Le Bistro is for the foie gras which I hate.
  5. Good for you. I think the ability to have NCL book flights, hotels, and transfers is very appealing to infrequent travellers who lack the experience to research and book for them selves. There are times when using cruise line transfers and hotels are worthwhile. Take for example, cruising out of Galveston where the airport is 70 miles from the port. The transfers can be quite a bargain there. Orlando is another example. Fort Lauderdale, Miami not so much. I'm fortunate in that for 15 years I travelled extensively for my job. I spent 40% of my time on the road. As a friend once said, when the girls at the Hertz counter call you by your first name, you've been there a lot.
  6. You can almost always do better booking your own room. Be aware that the prices quoted for precruise hotels are per person, not per room. And, you might also get a better room at the same hotel. The hotel isn't selling their most desireable rooms to the cruise lines.
  7. I always book Haven with the same TA. Sometimes she offers the gratutities sometimes not. Some credit card companies will offer pre-paid gratuities. Some do not.
  8. You were lucky. The point is this: when you are travelling to a cruise, you are betting the cost of the cruise that you will make the cruise. You can pretty much avoid losing that bet by travelling the day prior.
  9. Your experience only demonstrates how unimportant priority bag tags are.
  10. See omahabob's response above.
  11. The point is: what if you're late arriving?
  12. Assuming all goes well with the flights. No delays, no cancellations, no air traffic control problems, no weather issues...
  13. My TA doesn't always extend the gratuities credit. To me, the 8% is the important thing because I only book Haven cabins.
  14. Another significant difference. The aft Haven suites have the largest (huge) balconies on the ship. Only the DOS with large balconies are larger.
  15. My TA gives you the option of a discount or an equivalent amount of OBC. I always choose the discount.
  16. This paying more for improved flights is very new option. Doubt you will find much on it.
  17. Looks like OP is booking flights to SEA, not ANC
  18. If that's the case, your invoice from the cruise line should include a code that the gratuities are paid.
  19. My TA paid the gratuities on my February cruise. No issues. This is fairly common. My TA also discounted the price of the cruise by around 8%
  20. There multiple threads on the NCL flights. I'm curious, how does the cost of the NCL flights including the $150 PP compare to flights you could have booked yourself.

  22. Strongly recommend a phone call rather than just an email. Every time I've called the concierge has mentioned options I didn't know about. They are prompt in answering the phone, never had to wait on hold more than a couple of minutes.
  23. You should try this one: Friend of CHIEFMATEJRK chiefmatejrk
  24. Post number three has pictures of the breakfast buffet.
  25. Cost cutting is a good thing. What evidence do you have that dropping ports results in more profit. If they drop a port, they also forego the revenue from shore excurtions.
