Just finished booking 2 cruises for January 2025. Leaving January 2nd from NYC to Galveston on NCL Prima- 15 day Caribbean. Then will spend 1 night in Galveston and do our first Carnival cruise on the Jubilee leaving 18th to 25th. Reviewed @Saint Greg February's trip on the Jubilee for tips.
What I can't seem to find is when do I pick my check in time, just want to add it to my notes so I am prepared.
Drink package - do I go in any time and add to my reservation?
If there is anything else I need to know that's important please let me know. Thanks.

@Hogladyrider looks like a great little town you spent the day exploring and saw a lot of neat looking things in that mortorcycle place. You don't find little towns like that anymore.

@KmomChicago Happy to hear you are going on your cruise with the graduate and will enjoy it. We only go around once and we need to make the best of that time we have on earth. Will look forward to your review. Sending hugs!

I book through a travel agency and once my booking is complete I call myself and do my upgrade and chose my room.

@Hogladyrider your Mom looks amazing, wishing her continued good health. Great family picture.

Well Tribe I have been quiet here as the mid-May Alaska cruise approaches. I had asked everyone’s thoughts about live reviewing it as a Friends of Bill W. Cruise.
That’s not going to happen. Bill’s friend isn’t his friend after all. I still intend to take this cruise because it is our only child’s high school graduation present. It’s maybe 50/50 whether Bill’s former friend will be in any condition to travel. Probably won’t decide until it’s time to drive to O’Hare. Game Day decision.
Instead I might be sharing the experience of figuring out exactly what kinds of health cancellations are covered by my cruise insurance. I always buy it but confess I just get whatever plan the booking engine offers and never read the policy.
For once I actually booked travel insurance on both the cruise and the flights, two separate policies. Should be interesting, I guess if that’s the word for it, to figure it out.
I am sorry to hear that. I returned from my 18 day cruise on Saturday and it was my BF who had suffered seizures from drinking while at my house at the beginning of December. He went to about 8 AA meetings and decided he didn't need the meetings that he was good. He had gotten a letter from his DR which I was going to use so I could remove his drink package and keep mine.( Actually I am the one who asked for the letter not him) As soon we sat down for lunch in the main dining room I ordered my Prosecco and he ordered a Bloody Mary and said it was his vacation too and he was going to enjoy it. From then on he drank Black Russians and of course complained he could not taste the vodka or they did not give him a big enough drink. Unfortunately, he does not know when to say no. Only one night did he drink too much that he was slurring his words when we walked out of Teppanayki.
I had to go to the medical center on the ship as came down with bronchitis and still not feeling well after visiting my PC on Monday so really need to figure out what I am doing next in my life.
Take your trip and celebrate your child's graduation as it only happens once and then figure out everything when you return.

@TxTeach79 great review, I am boarding her in 2 weeks for Panama Canal cruise. Need to spread my wings and try some new drinks. BF is the one with a drinking problem and hopefully he will stay on track and stay with mocktails and NA beer so I can't order 2 at a time as I don't want to give him any temptation.
Safe travels home.

Look forward to following along as I found your Star review last summer very enjoyable. So sorry to hear about the episode at school, hopefully this vacation will ease some of that nastiness you witnessed and experienced.
Have a fun trip, I embark on the Sun for an 18 day Panama Canal cruise on April first and cannot wait.

Have a great trip, we will be boarding the Sun on April 1st for an 18 day Panama Cruise ending in Seattle where it will get ready for the Alaska season. Was on the Sun in October 2022 solo to celebrate life and a major milestone birthday and also did the last Alaska cruise of the season with BF in October 2023 on her . Highly recommend Los Lobos as we love it, so great choice.

I love that there are Peeps fans! I personally am a black jellybean chick, but having a favorite seasonal candy is happy stuff in general!
Black jelly beans are also my favorite. I always needed to have a white chocolate easter bunny while my brothers got milk chocolate.

You are killing me with these dirty martinis which is my favorite drink and it definitely needs to have blue cheese stuffed olives. I have never had a muddled one though and I do like it dirty.🍸🍸Cheers.

@dmet0225 I am so sorry to hear of your cousins passing but ultimately sounds like the right decision. We had to make that decision 30 years ago for my Mom and definitely not easy but right. Just hold onto all your wonderful memories.

Great pictures, Patti sure put on a lot of miles. I was there when it was Downtown Disney probably about 13 years ago. At that time I dated a man who had a very expensive motorhome and we would stay at Fort Wilderness which was fun. Not having children, I had only been to Disney one other time so I sure learned a lot about Disney during this time.

Hello! My first cruise was on the SS Norway back in 1992. My mom and I had one of those nice cabins with full windows.
My first cruise was also on SS Norway in the early 80's. Then life got in the way and next cruise was not till 1996 on the Majesty out of Boston to Bermuda. I am now making up for lost time and love traveling both cruise and land trips.

Gotta love New England, 60 yesterday, mid 40's today and a N'oreaster coming in Monday night into Tuesday. Where I live they are saying 6 to 12 inches, unfortunately, I have a rescheduled MRI that morning at the hospital which is about 45 minutes away in good traffic. The first time I went for one a few weeks ago with a company known for MRI's I had 2 idiots who could not get an IV in me for the contrast. They spent 25 minutes trying to get a needle in. The frosting on the cake, when I was leaving and asked for my co-payment back as I had to pay before they did it, was when the receptionist said well maybe I can try, are you kidding! Of course the weather people could be wrong so I'll wait for Tuesday morning before I reschedule as you never know.

I don’t “follow” any thread. I have them bookmarked and pickup from where I left off. I never understood the fascination with following. Is there a contest or something on CC that I don’t know about?
I only follow a couple of live reviews from tribe members, do not want email notifications and they are turned off but always got notifications from the little bell at the top of the page.

Looks like a great day in Aruba, enjoy Bonaire. Have not been there yet as the port was cancelled on one of my past cruises and not on my upcoming January trip so guess that means another Caribbean cruise. As always your pictures are fantastic. Have fun!
