  1. Ask the Terrace Manager. Each segment is planned in advance and he can tell you the current planned menus. Some will do it, others won’t.
  2. From prior experience. If your hair is white, the background is white, and your complexion is very light ( as in no tan during the winter) your photo runs a high probability of being rejected.
  3. Is that “ pages of changes” from the Vista, or the rest of the fleet? Sound dampening in Embers would be a huge improvement! Not sure what the other pages would include. Elevators that work?
  4. I believe the Oceania ATW 2026 cruise is currently scheduled for release in August. All the speculation will end next month and then we’ll know.
  5. To me it’s simple. Do you want to go to FP to immerse in the culture, in the local fresh foods, and educated by truly outstanding enlightenment speakers? Or, do you want to see the FP in a very comfortable Americanized manner eating in the PG and Toscana, getting the exact same foods served to you as you would in the Med, Baltic, or Asia? Maybe one night at the buffet you’ll even get a FP night, with an Americanized version of the food. 🙄 Do you cruise to cruise, or cruise to travel? Particularly for the FP, once you answer that simple question, the other answer is clear.
  6. I twice took a delightful glass of port, that was on the “wine by the glass “ menu, from dinner to the show! 😇
  7. Actually a bit simplistic. There exists a huge selection of wines that are merely mediocre. Do they inspire you, entice you to buy? Perhaps not. Will you drink them if they even reasonably pair and the only thing available? Yes! Doesn’t mean you like them, but you’ll drink them. I taste through a multitude of wines every month. Some are well constructed wines that stylistically I’m not fond of, but can identify them as well made wines of that style. Liking or disliking has little to do with recognizing wine quality.
  8. I believe in a recent review I rated a few of the wines by the glass as being quite quaffable. The dessert wines, in that category, are also good. OTH, a few of the wines are also quite poor. The posted wine list is an example only of wines offered. We found many to be out of stock and replaced with a different wine not listed on the wine list. For example, for Chardonnay, the list shows both a Macon Village and a Raymond ( CA) Chardonnay. Both are reasonably good and pair nicely with different types of food. However, we have recently been on ships where one or both are out of stock, and they are pouring something entirely different not on the list. If you’re into wine, other than just swilling, ask to see the bottle they are pouring from.
  9. As to that time gap. A charter is always a possibility. The Vista now has a charter of Swingers aboard. I heard that the cruise is sold out. Perhaps another such group took the ship for that time period and O just isn’t advertising what’s going on. Again, I don’t understand why they don’t say Charter or Refits, but that’s O!
  10. Perhaps the real reason is they just haven’t been posted yet! We’ll play make believe and give Oceania some credit. On our Vista cruise, multiple people were very unhappy, and very vocal about it, because their tour description didn’t match up with what happened on the tour. Two big items rang out: 1) sights listed that were closed to the public and had been for a couple years ; and (2) far more listed sites than visited. Maybe Oceania is trying to slowly rectify these issues, and ten (10) months out aren’t ready to publish the tour guide yet. Personally, I’d rather get an accurate shore tour listing at 8-9 months out than a basically worthless one at 11-12. But, that’s just me.
  11. There are several other Consortiums.
  12. It was rampant on our March Marina cruise. Crew went to 100% mandatory masks. People disappeared to Covid jail. Even then, only about half the passengers masked up. Good luck, hopefully you get home and do fine. 🥂
  13. Why put O in a corner? If ak1004 wanted to book a currently available cruise, it would have been done. Absolutely no harm in letting it ride and then seeing if O will allow its use on the next cruise release. Cancellation is always as easy later as it is today. 🥂
  14. I can think of no reason I’d ever again do 1-800-Dial-a-Clerk. I suppose some people are just bored and that’s how they enjoy spending their time. A very strong possibility exists that what the clerk sees on their computer, and you can’t on yours, are instructions to give you the run around and not a definitive answer. 🥹
  15. I believe the most influential part of the pronunciation for Oceania is: SHOW ME the MONEY! 😎🥂 After that, call it what you like! 🤪
  16. One of the many mysteries of Oceania Cruise Line: How they abhor corporate communications. Why the big secret? It’s obvious the upgrades are not going to be done this Fall. Why not just announce when it’s currently scheduled/planned to be done? Is this just Jr. , following in Daddy’s footsteps, wanting to inexplicably keep people in the dark for no apparent reason? 🙄
  17. With notice, I’m sure that Oceania will take the OP’s money and give them a vegetarian meal. No problem. Everyone gets the exact same wines. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, all others get the same wines for each course. Whether all those courses for those with special dietary restrictions actually pairs with the wine is a separate issue for which I can’t comment. However, having seen some of those presented dishes, it’s highly doubtful. If they really want to go, then fine. Don’t complain if you find any pairings not good. Enjoy the company and the evening.
  18. You are confusing a FC Credit with a FC Certificate of which this thread is about. The OP did the best thing and worked it with their Travel Agent and Oceania.
  19. Just ask your Agent which consortium their Agency belongs to.
  20. This program is used as a promotional technique by Oceania to inspire Travel Agencies and their Agents to recommend newer cruisers to Oceania. It’s a freebie for the customer that the Agency or Agent doesn’t pay for. There are three or four of the major travel agent consortiums and Oceania rotates this pass through perk to those consortiums, not the independent Agencies. None of the consortiums get the benefits all the time.If the consortium gets the benefit, all the Travel Agencies members of that consortium get it. FWIW, Travel Agencies mostly belong to Consortiums to strengthen their negotiating power and to get booking advantages such as this. For most of the Consortiums, a percentage of the payable cruise line commissions are payable to the Consortiums, from the Agency, to cover their costs and other expenses.
  21. La Reserve is a food and wine pairing event. The wines are set and rarely would the wines pair favorably with vegetarian selections. I’d recommend saving your money and dining elsewhere.
  22. Shouldn’t this be merged with the thread of the exact same topic?
  23. Best to call your Travel Agent and have them plead your case directly with Oceania. I truly don’t believe any pre Covid experience, on this issue, would necessarily apply today. It’s a new world.
  24. The tomahawk looked good, but my DW wanted fish, and that big boy was way too big for me! I liked your plans of sharing on a table of 6-8! Only way I could justify having it. I’d feel bad , even with two of us, trashing 20-24 Oz of meat.
  25. Being a sailor myself, I’ve never confused my sailboat, or the facilities therein, with an advertised Premium Cruise Line ship. Army C-Rations may be adequate while not being the “ finest cuisine at sea”.
