  1. Did you get chills or anything considering you're cruising and visiting Titanic graves? I ask because over the course of the nine years I've been cruising, "Titanic" came up in conversation a handful of times and just one time did I feel creepy about it. I still wonder why "just that time", like maybe a relative of a survivor or victim was on the ship with me?
  2. Caesar salad, but they don't broadcast that it's available. You have to ask for it. I don't know what other possibilities there may be because if I'm in that line I'm usually CRAVING pizza.
  3. As Cramer would say BUY BUY BUY! It's more likely that Carnival would file for bankruptcy (reorg) than for the stock to go to zero. The price of a stock is the last transaction price and who would sell shares at zero? In all seriousness, I had Lehman shares when it went bankrupt and although the stock was "worthless" I waited four years with a strange ticker in my brokerage account (something like "LHM##") and wound up getting paid something like $17. If it goes to zero and you want to sell, I'll buy all of it.
  4. You, Sir Double Dare, are living on the edge! "Is there bacteria in glacier water? To find out, scientists collected snow and ice samples from 21 glaciers over the years 2010 to 2016. Each was melted and then tested to see what was in the water left behind. The researchers found 968 unique species of bacteria, 98% of which had never been seen before." 😱
  5. Thanks for posting all the pics of Messina. I saw more of it from your pics than the two times I was there (mainly because I had excursions both times).
  6. In this pic you can see the Pride docked in the small bay/port of Messina. In the distance, the entire mountainous region you see is the tip of the toe of the boot.
  7. Maturity is overrated. 😁 🏴‍☠️ "Why is the rum always gone?"
  8. Question: Are you using a cellphone to take/post the photos and have you found a way to get those spaces between the photos other than uploading them one at a time? TIA.
  9. Very interesting and you piqued my curiosity! It was written at as a four paragraph poem then later turned into a song and we only sing the first paragraph!
  10. Jimbo, can you share what tour guide said about the two-story structure? Like from what dates and by whom it was constructed and used? It really is a magnificent ruin.
  11. Pirate Punch just because I like ordering it in a pirate's voice, and Zombie (all-time favorite). 😁 🏴‍☠️
  12. Do I hear a little grumbling out of #17? 😁 🏴‍☠️
  13. Oh yeah, I forgot to post about these guys in my thread. Really fantastic cover band with a wide variety of music.
  14. My overall take on partner and cruise/train? I wish my daughter had come with me, of course the best memories are shared ones. That said, I already told her I'm doing another trip to Italy next May, with or without her. In fact I already completed a first draft of the route, based on some reading of "hidden gem" Italian towns. I will probably be visiting Cinque Terre and Venice again in May, I just can't get enough of them. The other cities and towns I visited I would like to see again, but not so soon (Bologna, Pisa, Parma, Rome). As for cruise/train, this trip was a 10-day cruise and 12-days training around. I like the mix alot. But I'm getting an itchy finger for May and don't see any cruises (free casino offers) to match up with training around except the one I just did. That doesn't exclude it, but I'm looking for variety before repeating the same itinerary if possible. I would enjoy the same cruise again, there is enough to do at every port that I can stay happily busy without any redos. If I compare the itinerary - Mykonos, Santorini, Ephesus, Athens, Olympia, Taormina, Pompeii, Positano - to any other I've been on, none other comes close.
  15. Some people got out of line to purchase the speedboat tickets when they saw how slowly the line was moving, and as the heat got to them. The Oia hawkers have cleverly stationed their storefronts about 10 feet from the long line. So the line is between the ticket store and the speedboats filling up with people and going. I note these are not those little speedboats but just medium sized ferry boats for people only that have a lot of hp. I will definitely do the Oia option (includes ticket on speedboat, a couple hours free time in Oia, then private minibus back to Thira/Fira at the top of the cliff.
