Still cloudy, dreary, and was spitting rain way down here in Croatia. But is clearing up now. We had quite the thunderstorm last night. Heading up river again tonight...with fingers crossed.

I bring more hook magnets when I want to do a string or two of LED Xmas lights on December cruises. Very festive stung along the walls. Big no no to use tape on any of the doors or walls.

Sooo happy to hear the levels are up again. Currently docked on Vidar (with about 7 other cruise vessels rafted on) in Belgrade. Raining off and on all day. I hate to jinx myself, but I think we will make it without packing and unpacking again for the next 2+ weeks!

Totally agree. Currently on our first Viking cruise (3 weeks) and are already firmly hooked by day 4. Bye-bye Royal Carib! 😉

Booked into JW Marriot Bucharest Grand Hotel on the 20th for the pre cruise Vidar European Sojourn. Lovely hotel, and enjoyed our dinner outside during the nice weather at the "Garden". Only snag was when we put our suitcases out in hallway at the hotel for pick up before the 7:30 am required time...they missed picking them up, but luckily I noticed they were not in the huge pile in the lobby in time. Yikes, and they had tried to put them on the truck for the Scenic people. Even worse!! Having beautiful weather, enjoyed our walk in Ruse and most especially today in Vidin Bulgaria. The tour after the hotel was definitely too long. Way too much bus time, would have preferred getting to the ship earlier than the 5:30 pm time. Our tour in Ruse was cancelled, but it was the best thing possible, as we really enjoyed the relaxing cruise on the almost empty ship up here to Vidin yesterday, before we picked up the other tour people they bussed up here.

Booked one cruise late, and all that was left were connecting cabins. Figured we would take the chance. Never again. The thin door did not filter noise at all. The neighbors had two young boys that were very boisterous and loud. When Mommy and Daddy were apparently out, they were even louder. Plus...they kept trying to open the connecting door. I finally had to yell through the door "We are not letting you in, so cut it out!!!: That stopped that...but not the continued noise.

I get a quick pat down for my watch and bracelet quite often. Bucky....he sets off the Xrays at the airport almost every time for shrapnel still in him from Vietnam. 😞

I didn't either...until they pulled my carry on bag at Tampa cruise terminal to check the magnets. Never bothered to ask why it would matter...but no biggee.

Found the same thing. Checked on the supply this morning on Vidar. Nothing of real interest...to me anyway.

Same with me. With one exception.... at Tampa at security check in at the cruise terminal. They checked it, and then let me take them with me.

Not just Princess. Perks and benefits have eroded a lot since post Covid on RCI. We are their highest level (Pinnacle) and have been for awhile now. The things they are taking away is just getting too much. The uncontrolled party crowd and "feral children" running loose has become too much as well. We had been "loyal to Royal" for 20 years...now we are booking with other lines. Sooo...I am currently typing this from our Cabin on Viking Vidar...soooo nice! Next up are two ocean cruises with Viking and two with Octantis. To us it's what Viking does not offer... that is the strong appeal for us. 😉

Boarded Viking Vidar yesterday, doing the Bucharest to Amsterdam Euro Sojourn. Asked an officer about ship switching due to lower levels and he felt pretty confident we won't have to. I hope he is right...I overpacked...so I was not looking forward to packing up again mid cruise. 😉

You are not alone. 😉 Used to love it...but now it is just a theme park atmosphere. Mother Nature was pushed out for commercialization.

Have not river cruised in many years, and they were only one week at a time. Guess I am over thinking this for the 3 week cruise. 😉 Indeed...looking forward to a much more civilized embarkation...and total cruise experience.

Indeed would be...but from what we have experienced....it is simply easier to just toss a few extra plastic hangers into our luggage. Embarkation day on all cruise line is nuts...and trying to bug our attendant for extra hangers, when they are so busy,....ehh..simple to "DYI.... 😉

Thanks...I hate to put that expectation up too high...but indeed I have also heard nothing but good things about that line. Hope it's true...have invested a bit of the nest egg into 4 more booked cruises with them. 😉
