  1. Diamond plus may access the Diamond Lounge only, not the CL (or the SL on ships that have them), unless they are in a full suite (GS and above). Breakfast in the DL is simply a light buffet in the Lounge, with juice and coffee. Suggest the MDR, which is nice for breakfast with no reservations required for breakfast. Or your other choice is the Windjammer buffet.
  2. Unfortunately no. Junior suites are not full suites, and also cannot access the Concierge Lounge for full suites.
  3. Actually am not really paying attention to exactly where we go, as long as we cruise the Norway fiords, and mostly interested in Greenland and Iceland visit. It's all good for us...and with 62 total on our adventure...plenty of time to take it all in.
  4. That would be nice! Too many "been there...done that"....on most itineraries.
  5. I am guessing the whole WC of 274 nights was not the sell out that RCI hoped it would be. We were anxiously waiting to book half of it, (first quarter and then rejoin ship for fourth quarter). Next cruise made it seem like any of us were lucky to even be able to book the quarters (after all the good cabins were sold out to full WC cruisers previously). Now...they have broken it up even further with the 17 legs. IMHO..I am not sure RCI will jump on another long WC itinerary again any time soon.
  6. Will be getting a few Serenade blocks starting in December. 😉 Though have already received 4 of them, the 3 being duplicates of which I gave away to crew members, who loved them.
  7. Had the same thing happen with RCI tour in Naples last Fall. One of the worst tours ever, and our guide left one couple behind, even after the bus left for the port. They had to find their own way back to the ship. Totally agree that the cruise lines need to send a crew member on each of these tours when they first introduce the news ones to personally check them out. At the very least to enable them to list a correct description.
  8. Last quarter of WC is doing just that. 🙂 Looking forward to touring through there on Serenade.
  9. Oh silly me, but of course not! 🦨 Or would a "therapy skunk" be allowed? 😄
  10. Fantastic! Thanks! Much easier to pack a few pairs of boot socks than an extra pair of shoes. 🙂
  11. Viking is not alone. One of the worst is RCI. Very limited info, and they used to do reviews from pax with pictures, but no longer. Even worse than that...many of the tour info RCI lists is wrong, and don't find out until you are on the tour.
  12. Another curious question....the boots Viking provides. Are they "over your shoes" rubber type boots, or simply wear a good pair of socks to slip into the ones they provide? Need to figure out my shoe packing for our Octantis NW passage cruise. Thanks in advance! 🙂
  13. Ummm...yeah, I already replied to the one that was posted by ourusualbeach (scroll up two posts)....but thanks anyway.
  14. Don't get too exited, SUESEABE dug this old thread up from early February. 😉
  15. LOL. That's for sure! RCI: Really Consistently Inconsistent. 😄 We did love breakfast in Chops on both EX and Voyager. Very quiet, nice service, great view. And nice to have it separated from the traffic going into WJ like Freedom class. Spent a lovely 3 weeks each on both recently. 🙂
  16. Take a really good look at your diagram. Chops is on the starboard side. Entrance to WJ is on the port side. They are not the same entrance. If you are coming in from outside deck starboard side (back of pool deck), yes you will walk by entrance of Chops, which is really a hallway with a womens bathroom before you actually enter the double glass doors of Chops (which is always closed until they open them at breakfast hours)..from out there you will continue on past both sets of stairs and elevators, over to the other side for entrance of the WJ.
  17. He was 2 decks and a few cabins down from us. Impossible at that angle to figure out which cabin he was in.
  18. Nice! We are on two quarters of the WC on RCI. Both being 62 nights. Though I have started booking more and more with Viking now. Looking forward to the 32 night circumnavigating Australia on Venus early 2025. 🙂
  19. On Freedom the entrance to Chops is inside the WJ area. On this diagram it looks the same...but you cannot access the WJ from the starboard side. Many would mistakenly come there, being confused and then directed over to the other side of the ship.
  20. We are on Viking Euro Sojourn. Start in Bucharest and end in Amsterdam. Indeed why I made sure it was not 21 days of forced march. 😉
