  1. Test on Friday: Negative. Two days to travel to ship, you unknowingly get exposed to Covid. (And there are plenty of venues to do so) Sunday board ship...spread it around among your fellow pax and crew members. The only way to really insure there are no positive cases...is to test at the terminal before you board.
  2. We were one cruise shy of turning P...before Covid shut down. That carrot was pushed further and further away while the cancellations piled up. Originally was supposed to be on Grandeur...we wanted a smaller ship for the ceremony. After the dust settled and restart began...it ended up being Harmony as first ship not to be cancelled....sigh. But hey..been there done that..got the T-shirt. 😄
  3. Ditto. I retired at 55 and Bucky at 58. Both had high stress careers with no time off. Needed to be done with them (mine gave me a heart condition). Also, no mortgage (for over 30 years now), no debts, and pay no interest. Lived a very frugal lifestyle until we retired. Now...it's actually tough to find "holes" to fill in various cruises and land trips. We are very booked up all the way into 2024. I have no children, thus no grand children. No one to leave it to...except charities, but will try in earnest to spend it all while we can. Our broker told us "The best scenario, is for the last check to bounce". 😄 So...yup...bring on both more cruises and nicer cabins. 😉
  4. At our age...this is not going to happen to us. Don't intend to leave it behind. So it's better cabins...AND more cruises When is the last time you saw a U-Haul behind a hearse? 😉
  5. It was much...much worse just after start up. Happy to hear it is going more smoothly now. But our B2B last November had over 300 pax. Was a real cluster. 😮
  6. 24? Wow that's low numbers. But then again...it's the time of the year I guess.
  7. Agree. As is with favorite waiters. 🙂 Another wonderful things about the vouchers...happy hour is when WE want it to be. Now that we are doing early dining...we like going to the bar around 4 pm.....instead of the usual crunch at 5 pm in the lounges. Even the bars are not as busy then, which gives us more time to interact with the bar staff.
  8. Agree. The crowds and fighting for seats...(and seat saving) just really turned it off for us, even before the voucher program.
  9. Agree with you as well. 🙂 With the vouchers, I had fun at the bar on EX in the VCL. Head bartender Bruno (best bartender ever) ...helped me experiment with various selections to get out of my Gin and Tonic boring routine. 😁 And had so much fun doing so as well. 😉
  10. Totally agree there. Happy hour is any hour...at any venue...including Coco Cay/Labadee. 🙂 We have only made it to our six once. Yikes....with the comped wine and the six drinks per person per day.....that is already a reason to think about making an appointment with AA for me. 😮😉
  11. We have tried...but just not a fan of the DL on deck four.... being such a closed in lounge. I really miss the old CL turned DL location that was on Oasis...and still on Allure since it didn't get amped. Actually got a kick out of finally using the "Rising Tide" bar for a drink or two the last couple of times on Harmony. We do early dining now...happy tisers are not something we need since then.
  12. Human nature....mention "free drinks"....and they will show up at the dump if that is where they are offered. 😉
  13. You are most welcome! Happy to help. 🙂 The insurance I have is through GeoBlue. Have had them for 6 years or so...and (fortunately) have never had to use them. I have it mostly for major medical cost that can occur when overseas. But I don't use "trip insurance".
  14. And now if we can just get a Celebrity ship to home port in Port Canaveral...life would be sweeter. 😉
  15. Aww...thanks for the compliment. Yes, my humor can be a bit on the odd side for sure. 😉 The DL (Diamond lounge) and the CL (concierge lounge) are basically the same. One of the things I love about those two lounges on Radiance class...are the location. Right across the hallway from each other...though the CL does have the half circle bar (my favorite)...and has access to seating area outside through sliding glass door. Another...and more important for me...is if the coffee machine is on the fritz in one.....you can easily try the other. 😉 Both lounges will have a dedicated concierge person. So no difference there either. Since you are in a full suite...and are D+...you have access to both. Yes, finals went back to 90 days some time ago. Hope you are able to get it settled.
  16. Don't get me wrong...there is nothing wrong with booking an OS. And in fact I adore the GS and up suites on the older ships. More room, better layout IMHO. Plus if you are not D+ or Pinnacle...the extra perks are very nice. I love the double sinks in the bathroom, and the "second toilet" 😉 And the very large balcony is a huge plus. 🙂 We just don't need it on the smaller ships. Even being Pinnacle....our last cruise on Harmony was a B2B OS. Did we need the extra perks...not really...but anniversary being what it may....why not. 🥰 Agree about spending the bucks....when is the last time you saw a hearse towing a U-haul....can't take it with you. 😄 Enjoy your cruise, and your luxury in the OS.
  17. Yup, not really worth paying for over a JS on Radiance class...IMHO. 😉
  18. The perks are the same from GS (Grand Suite) and up. Though on Oasis class for example, you have Sky and Star class. Star glass comes with a "Genie" AKA butler of sorts and a lot more perks...with a hefty cash tip for your Genie. 😉 No CK (Coastal Kitchen) on Radiance class...or Genies.
  19. The only two times I have had to move...I was able to help our cabin attendant move to the next cabin. It was actually quite hilarious, with lots of fun and laughing between us. We simply put the suitcases in the closet (walk ins) and hung the hanger clothes inside. Luckily both were just before "gathering" at the B2B meeting. 🙂
  20. It happened to me a couple of times actually. One of the requests was from RCI, who had unknowingly booked the same cabin. I booked direct online, the other was from a TA who apparently did not submit final payment in time. I obviously had first "dibs". Manager called me from RCI and asked me to move and accept a large OBC...which I did not need. So then they asked me if I would move from JS to GS....and accepted.
