  1. There are many good and some not so good things on this cruise. Overall we have really liked the food, which of course is very subjective, but getting a dish that is only warm at best is not 5*, no food from the lunch buffet in La Veranda has been close to hot. Service has mostly been very good, well I went for breakfast today and waited 7+ minutes until someone asked if I wanted a coffee. Not 5* Service at the bars (dare I write this as 2 nights to go) has been excellent with no complaints except for the bottle of red wine that clearly should have been discarded 2 days earlier. Chair hogs, yes the (I think English) couple who had 6 chairs between them, really pitiful inconsiderate people, who were not on any of them for 5 hours. The self important entitled person who brings her dog to restaurants. The entertainment is probably the best we have had on 27 cruises. No recognition by name other than from our butler, room attendant, and one waiter in Prime 7. I remember our first cruise on Seabourn 15 years ago going to breakfast the first morning and 10 people addressed us by name. Not on Regent. Do not find the officers to be very friendly, except for the Captain. Nor the CD or social host. Issues with our not inexpensive suite, most of which should have been resolved before the ship first sailed. Butler has been great. Included wines are some of the best of any sailing I have been on. Only did 1 ship tour - which was an upcharge and it was disappointing, lesson learned. We usually do not do ship tours but thought since there was an upcharge it would be OK. Jorge the Maître Di, who we know from our cruise last year on the Splendor is great. Everyone has their opinion. This is mine.
  2. Same result for us, saved thousands. 🤑
  3. Sending you our best. Many of us have had health issues and recovered and some people I know never did. I hope your husband's treatment is successful even though we have never met I will keep him in my prayers, yes they do work!!!!
  4. Mine has 1 lounger and 2 regular chairs.
  5. We just had our TA contact Regent about a cruise in 2025 who told her they would have to email a supervisor.
  6. This is NOT Shania Twain... And on our Splendor cruise last March same thing, rules and enforced re: chair saving.
  7. Joined on the 21st. Lots of good about this ship, but quite a bit of poor workmanship, (Shower door, carpet in hallway stairwells, uneven boards by pool bar, A/C issues in our suite, etc.) Automated doors to pool deck have had multiple issues, pool bar had workmen on more than one occasion fixing things - new ship yes but some of it a lack of quality control and maybe a rush to get it delivered. Today for the first time we did hear our neighbors talking when we were inside our suite - on deck 14 - never had any noise when on Splendor. Service has been mostly excellent, butler always wanting to insure we have everything, laundry came back same day, and food has been very good, however rarely hot, mostly warm at best. Entertainment has been some of the best we have experienced at sea. Lots of chair reservations early in the morning, with NO enforcement of the supposed rules. And... a woman with a dog (not a service dog) who takes it to restaurants and coffee connection and I have no idea, luckily for me, where else... I was not aware that Regent allowed dogs on board.
  8. And on the current segment. Once couple had 6, yes 6, chairs a few days ago. But were nowhere to be seen until after 2 p.m.
  9. We were in Kusadasi years ago on a Seabourn cruise and had a private tour that took us to Ephesus and multiple other must-see sites. Unfortunately the heavens opened up late in the afternoon and they had to cancel the Ephesus concert.
  10. We just got a notice yesterday that a trip on the Encore next August has removed Kusadasi and now making a call to Nydri, Greece.
  11. Subjective. We have close to 450 days on Seabourn and only 1 cruise on Regent, although joining the Grandeur next week, and very much enjoyed Regent Splendor. A couple we know for over 10 years who we met on Seabourn and had several hundred days all in top suites now only sail on Regent after a few bad Seabourn cruises. Our first 2 post C19 cruises on Seabourn were very disappointing although last one this past July was good, although Definitely noticed cost cutting. More choices for breakfast and lunch on Regent. YMMV
  12. First off category of suite nor days sailed will influence a request for a special meal. That post made no sense to me, that is not what Seabourn is. We have ordered many special meals over the years, sometimes for 2 up to 12. One cruise with a lot of sea days a group of 8 of us had special lunches almost every day with each couple taking turns deciding on the selection. Never had a request denied. Have had Indian multiple times, need to insure enough protein vs. starch, so be specific when ordering Indian. Have had special Italian and seafood, a couple we met on last Seabourn ordered a duck special for the 4 of us. If they have the ingredients and not a special event that day they will be happy to accommodate your wish.
  13. And BA charges different prices depending on where in the biz class cabin you wish to sit. And agree that KLM who I prefer to fly for both the non-stop to AMS and the service.
  14. We have flown BA multiple times this year in their business class, connecting thru LHR, and all booked thru AA. They let you pick a seat on flights in Europe for no cost but you need to go to the BA site to pay to choose a seat in advance for the trans-ocean segment.
  15. Mike, I and a friend also on the same cruise, tried to send a message using the contact form. After calling Regent and being told to send our issue using that link - pitiful customer service BTW. Despite filling out all the required fields when hitting the Submit button it does not appear to actually send it. Is this a known bug or a new one? Damn frustrating, especially as someone who designs complicated software systems for a living.
  16. Yes we are on too along with friends. TOTALLY NOT HAPPY with a meager $500. Had my great TA call Regent today who told them to have me send something from their web site that TOTALLY does not work. Mike are you reading this? This would be our 2nd Regent cruise with 2 more booked all in PH cat rooms, might be the last.
  17. We usually do not eat breakfast whether on a ship, land vacation, or at home. Coffee black is my priority. On Seabourn the MDR is usually open at times I am not yet up at if I wanted breakfast - I am on vacation. When open for lunch and we are on-board much prefer to dine at the MDR for lunch. We have seen 30+ tables for lunch on some cruises but it will depend on the itinerary and pax who KNOW MDR is an option. Since we like cruises with sea days usually MDR is open on sea days.
  18. Unfortunately many of "the quality crew of a few years ago" are no longer with Seabourn. I have sailed with Scenic ocean 3 times and I know more crew on Scenic when I board that are ex-Seabourn than when I board Seabourn now who I know from a prior Seabourn cruise. Years ago first day on a Seabourn ship we'd see 15+ crew we knew from prior cruises. Last July there were maybe 10 crew we saw the entire 21 days who we knew from the past. Sad.
  19. Try Regent Markham always sit down service available at at least 1 resturant for lunch and if a sea day 2 options. At least on the newest ships. Sailed on Splendor and will be on Grandeur in 3 weeks. A bit larger than SB E class but many more options for dining and bars. And Obs bar so much more spacious. BTW have not yet experienced SS but from your posts you obviously love it.
  20. Or for special dinners for invited guests as we once had. It was a great experience and then a year or two later converted, as you said to Spa Suites. Never stayed in one as heard potential for lots of soot but once sailed thru part of the Panama Canal drinking very good champagne with friends who were in a Spa Suite and agree great views.
  21. We had a terrible first experience at Chartreuse - worst table possible, food not so good, service poor. Decided to give it another go and it was the total opposite, so much that we went back with a couple we befriended staying in a named suite and got us all in. Prime 7 was always good, and really liked lunch there Pacific Rim was probably our favorite but agree that food sometimes came out too fast. Compass Rose first time we sat and sat and sat waiting for some water and wine. Food was good. Rest of the times service was decent.
  22. "Also heard Eclipse is having a very hard time filling ships from a passenger perspective. There's gonna be a shakeout in the industry for sure. " I can speak to this. We have sailed on Eclipse I and II (3 times in total and over 40 days) and they can't fill the ships with paying pax, they give free or severely discounted rates to travel agents in the hope they will sell the product. (Supposedly they do sell out the Antarctica cruises) So far it has not worked and the last cruise we were on 7 weeks ago the owner came on in Miami and kissed a** of the TA's but never once came within 50 feet of us paying pax. BUT here is the thing: it is a GREAT product, multiple (depending on how one counts 5 or 6 for dinner) restaurants for 230 potential pax. Included spirits better than Seabourn, comp wines about equal but what make it great is they have some of the BEST ex-Seabourn crew (Brenden, Alex, Damir, Milos, etc... just to name a few). And more joining all the time (I recently found out my favorite Seabourn waiter is now part of Scenic) I think Scenic officers are more visible and interacting especially the Captain (love Rado and Erwan they are special people and always around) and Staff Captain. IMO there are too many ships competing in this space (Atlas with their legit BOGO fares) all the same PC6 class. So can only go to the same places. Only Le Commandant Charcot can do something special (North Pole? Yeah it was great.)
  23. Glad to know Brent is still with Seabourn. He made our Antarctica and Alaska cruises special.
  24. Have done many TA's on Seabourn and 1 on Regent. Similar as far as day time lectures & things to do although Regent does have Trivia it is not a blood sport as it is on some Seabourn cruises. (We do not play, just based on what we heard from various friends who do play). We were on the Splendor and think Regent - at least the larger ships - win as there are more choices for lunch open than on Seabourn. Like the Regent coffee bar where you can have a seat and someone will take your order instead of standing on a line in Seabourn Square plus the serve yourself little breakfast options. Seabourn clear winner when it comes to dinner as you only need reservations at TK - soon to be gone and the Ad Hoc dinners at Colonnade, never a problem to get whereas on Regent Prime 7, Chartreuse and Pacific Rim are all a game to play to get a reservation. Compass Rose definitely a wider choice of options but service can be good or pretty bad and the room is not appealing. Seabourn MDR smaller menu and service varies depending on who is the lead. Much better, IMO, live music on Regent.
