This is the parking garage we are parked in. You could almost see our car. We’re parked on the first level by the gap in the wall mid picture….. The Carnival Spirit has pushed away from Terminal “D”….. We are going to follow the Sunrise out to sea….. Here is Norwegians Terminal here in Miami. There are no Norwegian ships in port today….. Looking back towards the turning basin….. To be continued…..

At 1:15pm our Cruise Director Todd made the announcement that all the cabins were ready, so we made our way back down there. My piece of luggage had arrived, but Patti’s hadn’t. I used this time to get myself unpacked. We hung out in the cabin until sail away which was at 3:30. Patti’s luggage still hadn’t arrived, so she was going to stay in the cabin and wait for it. Besides, it was freezing out there. She could watch the sights by sitting on the bed and looking out the balcony door. That left it up to me to go out on the open decks and document our sail away on camera. I hope I did her proud. As soon as I stepped outside I saw our old friend the Carnival Sunrise prepare to sail by us….. I was hoping for a horn battle, but it didn’t happen. Looking west down the channel you could see the Celebrity Summit and Virgin’s Valiant Lady which Megan is on. I bet she’s on her 5th or 6th drink by now. Lol….. To be continued…..

The Magic is at Terminal 5, might be a buck or so cheaper!

Patti goes to the very aft of Deck 9 and checks out the Serenity area. I can't believe that there were people actually in the hot tub….. The Serenity Bar is busy….. There’s also a small Coffee Bar back here….. Around 12:45 Patti came for me at the Red Frog Rum Bar and we went to grab some lunch. Though it was crowded we managed to find a table for two. Patti grabbed something from the Deli…… I went to my favorite place for lunch on the Spirit Class ships, Chopsticks…… This venue becomes the Seafood Corner every evening with the same menu that the Seafood Shack offers on the ships that have them. After we ate, I made a reservation for the Steakhouse at a table they had set up nearby….. To be continued…..

Moving forward on Deck 3 from the Empire Restaurant is the Deco Foyer Lounge….. On the port side is Soul Play which is the Arts & Crafts venue on the ship. Patti went there one day and got even more pictures…… Patti took the aft elevators up to Deck 9 to the La Playa Grille (Lido Restaurant)….. At the very aft of the Lido Restaurant, you’ll find the Pizza Pirate and the Salad Bar….. To be continued…..

Next to the Alchemy Bar is the Dancin’ Dance Club, which is a two-deck nightclub that extends down to Deck 1…… Patti heads back up to Deck 3 and enters the Empire Restaurant. This is the only MDR on the ship and is all the way aft on Decks 2 &3….. Here is tonight’s menu….. To be continued…..

This is Bonsai Sushi, located just off of the Spirit Lobby. We will eat here a couple of times on this cruise….. This is a view looking up to the top of the Spirit Atrium. You can see the glass staircase that I talked about earlier….. This is some of the seating in the Spirit Lobby….. Heading aft, Patti comes to the Alchemy Bar….. Patti comes upon the Warehouse Arcade on Deck 3 forward on the port side. This was where the Library and the Chapel used to be….. This is the stairway that leads down to the Promenade Deck 2….. These are the Carnival Spirit trophy cases….. To be continued…..

Patti heads down to Deck 3 forward and checks out “The Jungle”. This is the interior promenade that wraps around the outside of the Pharaoh’s Palace Theater upper level. This is the perfect place to read, relax, and watch the sea pass by….. Patti goes into the entrance to the upper level of the Pharaoh’s Palace Theater. We love the décor here….. Views of the Pharaoh’s Palace Theater from the upper level….. Patti now heads aft on Deck 3 via the Deco Walk….. To be continued…..

She and W will be on the Horizon in April and the Celebration in May. 😎 Actually yes. We have sailed on Cunard, Norwegian, Premier, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. We have not strayed from Carnival for a long time and that was because of our boys. They started out on Carnival, but one summer we did the Explorer of the Seas, which they absolutely loved. So when we were ready to book our cruise for the next summer, I asked them which line they wanted to go on, and they said "Carnival "! If they went the other way we would probably be Loyal Royals! We have discussed cruising other lines again, but just haven't pulled the trigger. 😎
