Day # 7 - (January 10th) - Grand Turk (8am – 4pm). We were up 6am to another beautiful day. The seas are calm as the Freedom heads to Grand Turk. Here are the views from our balcony….. We are treated to a beautiful sunrise….. Here are today’s “Fun Times”….. To be continued…..

After we got showered and changed, we made our way to the Victoriana Theater for Deal or No Deal….. We bought three cards for $50. I really want to get back on stage and redeem myself. Tonight, Comedy Club Host Marcela is going to host the show. I guess she is being groomed to be a Cruise Director. She did a great job….. I wasn’t chosen for either game, but Addison here wound up with $100…. Here is the final Audience Board. Patti’s card won a bingo package….. We were hungry so we decided to head up to the Lido. Patti had a Southwest wrap from the Deli and made herself a salad….. I started with a meatball sandwich and fries from the Deli, but I was still hungry, so I grabbed some fried chicken and rice from the buffet….. Afterwards, Patti was tired from all the walking she did today and went back to the cabin. I went to the Alchemy Bar to hang out with Zora for a couple of hours before calling it a night. Here is tonight’s towel animal….. Coming up next: Another day, another cabana!!!

The Carnival Horizon departed Amber Cove about an hour before we did….. To be continued…….

# 11 takes us right up to the gangway. Another $10 well spent! Once back on board, Patti took these last few shots of Amber Cove from our balcony….. To be continued……

Here are a couple of pool views….. We went back to the cabana and placed our lunch order with Nataly. In fifteen minutes, it was served piping hot. We had cheese quesadillas, spicy boneless chicken, and crab empenadas….. For the rest of the afternoon, we alternated between the pool and our deck. We enjoyed watching the zip liners pass right overhead….. We stayed to the bitter end. Where did all the crowds go? We paid our bill which was $86 + tip and said goodbye to Carlos and Nataly. I’m sure we will see you again soon! At the end of the pier, we found our man # 11 and he took us back to the ship….. To be continued…..

Over on the pier, the pedi-cabs are lined up and waiting to take passengers back to the ship….. Here is a view looking up at the Hillside Cabanas and the top of the zip line….. With two ships in port today the pool area is pretty busy….. Here is some Pool and Watersports information….. This is the Watersports Hut….. This is a perfect place for a photo op….. Zip liners zoom by overhead to the landing area below….. This is where crewmembers get to hang out….. To be continued…..

This is a nearby beach which is off the property….. Patti takes some random shots as she walks through the Plaza….. Patti passes the Fish Spa. It seems like every port has them now….. This is the restaurant by the pool….. To be continued…..

One more look at the aft ends of the Horizon and Freedom….. Patti heads back to ground level, capturing some flora and fauna on the way….. Patti is back in the Plaza….. Which way to go? This is where the tours depart from….. They are still decorated for Christmas….. This is the much-photographed Amber Cove sign…… To be continued…..

Great view from the top of the water slide….. Here are a couple of views of the Hilltop Cabanas….. Patti has made it up to the Sky Bar where the views are fantastic….. Nataly runs and gets me a bucket of Presidente beer….. A couple of deck views including the included pool floats and noodles….. This is the view from our deck….. Patti is ready to start her picture tour, so she heads down the steps. Warning! Those black anti slip strips get red hot in the sun. Don’t forget the flip flops! Here in the VIP area, if you don’t want to go for a cabana, you can rent cushioned loungers, umbrella, pool noodles, & floats for about a $100, and get great food and bar service to boot….. I'm going to hang out up here for a couple of beers and then head to the pool..... Patti starts with the water slide….. To be continued……

After being dropped off at the end of the pier, you go through the duty free store and into the Plaza, where you check in for your cabana…… The VIP Area Supervisor Carlos recognizes us and takes us over to our Pool Cabana. We’ve been here about a half dozen times, and every time we get the Pool Cabanas. We’ve been in #’s 1 & 2 before, but this time we are given # 4…… Here are Carlos and me….. Here are a couple of cabana views….. These are the included snacks and drinks….. Our server today is Nataly. We’ve had her several times in the past….. To be continued…..

We are just about in position…… We slowly glide by the Havana area on the Horizon. I love that area…… They are getting the ship tied up….. We are docked at 10:15. While we wait for clearance, Patti gets these pictures of the Ocean and Hilltop Cabanas. We have zero interest in renting those….. We are off the ship at 10:45. We choose #11 to pedal us to the end of the pier. Well worth the $10 tip! To be continued…..

The Carnival Freedom slowly backs into her berth….. The pedi-cabs are waiting for passengers. It’s a long pier, so we always use them for the cost of a tip….. To be continued…..
