  1. Thanks. Patti's are better. 🙂 And again thank you for the invite to post.
  2. Next, we visited the Casa Blanca Museum. But the best part is the gardens on the side and at the back of the house. Pam takes off to do some damage to her pocketbook and I head back to the ship.
  3. Here are some more art/traditions. A small, zippered bag by a local textile maker made its way home with me.
  4. There were also a few rooms with local Folk art, that showcased the customs and traditions that represented cultural expressions. (Wasn’t that fancy! OK I got it off the placard that was before the rooms. Haha)
  5. Meanwhile us steerage people are getting some culture and visiting the Museum of the Americas. Loved Eddie Ferraioli's stuff. Imna Arroya Cora is “a product of the Puerto Rican printmaking tradition”. Paper art! But she also works in sculpture, bookmaking, mixed media and other art. This is called: Ancestors of the Passage.
  6. Sorry, give me a headache just thinking about how this could go! (and I used to be a chearleader)
  7. I love some of the buildings in San Juan. Like this bank. Why? Look at the close up of the window and panels. Great Deco design. The wrought iron reminds me of New Orleans. As do the courtyards in the middle of the buildings. Hi Ponce !
  8. We have been having breakfast in Pig and Anchor. They have a small Buffett that is not very crowded. But today we headed to Shack’s Big Chicken. They have a small breakfast: chicken & biscuit, biscuit & egg with choice of meat and a Three Cheese Omelet. They also had yogurt, grits, juice, and some of their staples. Like fries. You can be like me and pretend that they are breakfast potatoes. IMG_0730.MOV
  9. Sorry, I was SNOT going to miss it, but something got into me. I can finally say as of today it's 100% gone. Yes, it lasted that long.
  10. Look at them bathing beauties! Pam got her a couple of braids. Wish I would have taken a close up of them. I will be taking lessons from this cruise and Patti. There is no such thing as too many pictures! Love me these masks. But what do I love better? Hiney mooring lines wrapped lovingly around a cleat. My father collected cleats. I have them.
  11. Sailing in a new solo balcony cabin on the Jewel in September. Guess I'll see what the new rooms are about. I usually just bite the bullet and get a balcony and pay the price. All the newly designated solo room across the fleet are selling this month. Can’t wait to hear about them. https://freestyletravelers.com/blog/ncl-solo-balcony-cabin
  12. Ahhhhh that red thing. Love me that red swingy thing.
  13. All kidding aside, I didn’t mind the walk to Amber Cove. But unlike Jeff and Patti, I am a newbie so I was in check it out mode.
  14. We sleep in a bit. But that meant we got to see Sparkle doing his sparkle stuff. I wonder how many people ask if his last name is Farkle? (IYKYK) And of course, because we are steerage we walk the pier and received no musical greeting. 😉
  15. My friends say I have another name. First name is Bea. Last name is Itch.
  16. We got talking and I never made it any further in my ship tour. But I did collect some great stories. One job he had was working as security for some pole dancers. I told him that maybe someday I will write a book about the people that I meet while traveling. The afternoon drifted by in an Old Fashion way.
  17. How far do I get in checking out the ship today? At Pig & Anchor I meet a wonderful man who is also having a salad for lunch.
  18. Meanwhile this steerage passenger has lunch in The Lido Marketplace.
  19. Today while roomie Pam is taking in some sun and I head to the top of the ship. And try to work my way down to all the public decks. Here is the jogging/walking path. And yes I am the bad girl that relized half way through I am walking the wrong way. In interest for the people I make sure I stop at every bar that is open. I didn't know how to work this darn tap and ended up with half a glass. So, people the tap is timed!
  20. I will say that even us steerage people had a very easy walk on. Well except for getting sniffed.
