Will Florida get a Quantum class ship?

Recommended Posts

I would like to see a Quantum class ship in Florida, although I agree it's unlikely in the next couple years. Based on my experience I slightly prefer Anthem over Allure, although I haven't been on the newer Oasis ships (planning for Harmony next). My guess is that the final "Quantum Ultra" ship will eventually replace Anthem in the NY/NJ area year round but that's pure speculation.

First Icon class seems to be a lock for Florida but that is still a couple years off!

Anthem definitely doesn't have a good track record out of N.J.

What makes you state that? One storm from early 2016 that got massive media attention? Anthem has sailed many, many trouble free itineraries out of Bayonne so it has a great track record.

Well... I don't think Freedom class is a downgrade over Quantum class in terms of quality. It much better suited for warm weather with several open pools, extensive H2O area, outside promendade.

In terms of innovations... Anthem doesn't have open sports deck with minigolf, large climbing wall, skating rink, more spacious promenade.

For colder season it would be a downgrade.

I would agree with you - definitely not a downgrade in terms of quality. I should probably just limit it to innovations...the new bells and whistles like the North Star, iFly, two70, Bionic Bar. I would hardly count mini golf and large rock wall as innovations. Generally, we see newer ships replacing older ships in markets, not vice versa.

I think it is a ship for all seasons. Remember the Caribbean can get windy and rainy or very humid.

Having inside stuff to do and lot of windows to see out is great. Many folks are now worried about over exposure of the sun. This ship is perfect for indoors and outdoors. Trust me I have been on it twice. Ya want shade sometimes
