Specialty Dining On Radiance

Recommended Posts

We are booking Alaska for July 2019 and I am curious about the quality of food in the specialty restaurants and the need for the internet package, since we are close to shore. We used to be huge fans of Chops, but it has gone downhill. Is it still wonderful on Radiance? And how about Izumi? I see no steak or non-seafood options there. Any help is greatly appreciated!

No Chops on the Radiance was horrible. Will never eat at Chops again. The rest of the specialty were fine.

We thought the steak in the main dining room was as good or better than Chops on both Harmony and Oasis. Was hoping on a smaller ship the attention to quality might be better.

Sadly the food on Radiance was the weakest we have had in many a cruise. Sorry.

We don't mind spending money, but we hate wasting money. On Pride of America on NCL, we had specialty dining every evening. And that was the absolute worst food ever.

We loved Giovanni's on Radiance last month (just as we always do). The quality was similar to what we experienced twice on Oasis last summer. We ate there using FNDR after muster and it was pretty empty. Had a window table and watched Radiance pull out of port from there.

Since you seem to want steak, we always get the fliet there and it was very good. Really enjoyed the optional gorgonzola butter that you can get with it as well.

That's the only specialty restaurant we ever visit so can't comment on anywhere else.

We were on b2b cruises on Radiance in March and ate at Chops and Samba. Chops was great but Samba was outstanding. It’s a shame that only 2 RCI ships offer Samba. We usually eat dinner in the MDR but eat in specialty restaurants on day own to avoid the chaos of the MDR.

Having have disappointments with Chops, Giovannis and Izumi(not so much) on various ships, we are not going to book any packages online and see if they have deals onboard (or not, doesn't worry us). #overrated.
