Hey all.

We'll be sailing on Pride of America through Hawaii in Feb of 2019.

We'll be flying in Friday, which means we'll need a hotel for a night..........we arrive

at 15:00 so have 24 hours to roam around until we board.

Suggestions on what hotel and what area? Don't need to be near the pier, but wan to be

somewhere where they'll be sites and things to do.........

Cheers!

Vijay

We have stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is the best as far as beach areas go on Waikiki beach. It has a lovely view of diamond head. It has a very resort feel with multiple pools and restaurants on site.

We have also stayed at the Marriott Waikiki Beach and it was a good location as far as walking to restaurants and stores. It also has a nice view of diamond head from the rooms.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Beachcomber. Was right across the street from the beach. Was very reasonable, and had no complaints at all with hotel. We used JohnnyCab to get from airport to hotel, then the next day used Johnnycab again to go to Pearl Harbor. They came to pick us up from PH when we called, and drove us back to the hotel. They picked us up the next day to drive us to the port, and picked us up for an island tour when we debarked back in Oahu. The HIBeachcomber was very close to Diamondhead also. We also walked to the Diamondhead luau (at the aquarium) from our hotel.

We stayed at both places on our recent trip to Hawaii and enjoyed them both. The HHV is very busy but large enough to spread everyone out. We like the Rainbow Tower. The Marriott is right across the street from Waikiki Beach and you'll find good walking spaces and plenty of shops.

Enjoy your trip.

NCL's precruise hotel is the Marriott Waikiki.

You should check the pre-cruise packages (which includes transfers to/from hotel).

Every major hotel chain has multiple properties in Waikiki. There are no hotel areas closer to the port. For example, Hilton has 5 properties and 4 timeshares in Waikiki. We stay in the Hilton Garden Inn which is in the heart of Waikiki about 3 blocks to the beach. We have also stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (right on the beach, but much more expensive) dozens of times.

That's what we did at the Marriott. NCL has a desk in the lobby. Your room cost will include transfer to the ship on Saturday if you book through NCL. You leave your bags in your room at checkout with cabin tags affixed. The bags will arrive at your cabin after you board. NCL provides a passenger van to the dock.

This is one of the few hotels in Waikiki that is right on the beach. They also have fireworks every Friday night.

Aston Waikiki Beach-it's on the quieter end of the strip and closer to Diamond Head and the aquarium. Very reasonable rate, especially for a hotel directly across the street from the beach. We loved our Oceanfront room when we stayed before our PoA cruise!

Thanks! Hilton is it! Booked. Anyone know about the Penguins at the hotel?

Looking forward to the fire works!!

The penguins were out much of the day in their area and then at certain times they had availability for you to come by and see them get fed, learn a little about them, and pet the penguins. My husband stood in line with little kids to pet the penguins and he loved it!
