Do you know this man? Trying to return a camera.

Recommended Posts

Thank you all but I am just a conduit. The real heroes are the beach employees that found it and started the search.

It has been posted on Facebook and on the other ships roll calls that were in port that day. I really hope we find the owner. It would make my year! :)

If there was more than one cruiseline in port that day, like Carnival, try also posting this there too.

I visit both RCCL and CCL boards and the original poster did post this on the Carnival boards.

Another THANKS!!! from us to as this is a very nice thing to do.

Tim

I actually read a tip a few years ago that it is a good idea to take a pic of your business card, or something to identify you so that if some honest person finds your camera, they can locate you.

I can't say that I do that on each trip, but it is a good idea. I'd say most of the time you camera is just gone, but it would be nice to think someone would try to return it.

Kuddos for your effort.

Another suggestion (that I read here long ago) is to put a return address label in all of your things. I put one, including my phone number, on the bottom of my camera. Covered it with a piece of packaging tape to protect the print. I also stuck one the same way inside my camera case right where it can be seen, and on all of my other electronics (laptop, mp3 player), tote bags, and items that often become lost.

+1 I lost my camera in 2010 on the FOS and wished someone like you got it and posted some pics...

I second that, I lost my camera on FOS in June 2012 between the Arcadia Theatre (had to put it in my pocket because there was no pictures allowed) and the casino. Went back and searched both and nothing. Also checked Lost and Found everyday and nothing. They could keep the camera it wasn't anything fancy, I just wanted the memory card with all my pictures!

Love the honesty........what a nice person you are to help find the owner! Gives me faith in the human race.....and on these boards where snarkeyness (is that a word?) and nastiness rule.....sometimes....Thanks again!:)

What a wonderful thing to do. It brings back great memories. Once my DH and I left our camera under the front seat of a rental car. Once we realized we were miising the camera we called the car rental agency, we were told the car had been cleaned, nothing had been found, and was re- rented. So... Of course we thought the camera was gone..never to be seen again. Well, a few days later we get a phone call from a lovely woman, she had found our camera...yep..under the front seat of the car she had rented. My DH... That D does stand for DEAR.... Had placed our business card in the camera case pocket. (What a brilliant man!). We drove to Denver and picked up our camera with irreplaceable family photos. There are kind people in this world! And you are one of them! :)

Snarkeyness is a great word and what sometimes makes these boards so fun! (not nastiness though).

To the OP, good luck in reuniting the camera with its owner although it seems like the proverbial needle in the haystack scenario.

I put my name, address, phone #, ship and itinerary on a piece of paper and take a picture of it before we leave home. I have four memory cards and I take a picture on each of the cards. If my camera ever gets lost, it will make it easier for someone to return it.

Anyone recognize his wristband? May be a clue of which tour he was with?

It might be the Paradise Island beach pass bracelet? Not sure if they are the same for all ships or not. Thought I'd respond to bump this up just in case someone recognizes him.
