For those of you that have used it did you get a better deal from the cruise line or shopping on your own? I have a Asia trip coming up and I'm not spending 16 hours in economy and hard plastic airport chairs.

Purchasing a Y seat on my own and using miles to upgrade. I have never paid cash to fly C or F. Too much money!

Yes, sometimes you can indeed get a better deal from the cruse line for business class. The key is to be sure you can request the airline and the flights you want.

On out upcoming cruise in April 2010, our TA was able to get us a better deal that the cruise line. It depends.

This is good advice. I needed an open jaw type of ticket, flying Business Class and the cruise line saved me significant money over the prices I was able to find on my own. I could have used a consolidator and paid close to what the cruise line was able to negotiate, but the itinerary was extremely unacceptable.
