Good Morning from the PACIFIC PRINCESS

Let me get this straight. You have one shower/tub and a second shower and you are complaining?

LOL:D Yes in St. Lucia there is a resort that actually charges a whole lot of money to have an open air shower with a view. (And they don't even include meals, free mini-bar, shows etc. How dare you complain.

We are arriving a bit late for the scenic cruising, due to rough seas leaving Hawaii. So, I thought I would take this time to secure my little office, 'just in case'. Hugh (the Chief Engineer) has already called this AM to make sure we have no drips or drops or anymore showers, but I am still not feeling too secure out here, so thought I would take matters into my own hands. See what you think!

I will not allow me to upload the image this morning so hopefully this will post.

Toto you had me in stitches with your "episodes". Hey at least you did not come on here and say "I will never sail Princess again". I am really enjoying your "live" from. Keep up the good work.

Just back from the casino, and it was a lovely day with lots of wins. :)

We sailed by Christmas Island earlier and I did take a few pictures I need to download later on. It isn't all the much to look at really, just a flat island in the middle of nowhere, but it has white sand beaches all around with the clearest water I think I have ever seen. The seas calmed to a mirror like state as we passed, and the sun was the brightest yet. Will try to get the pictures uploaded in the AM or later this evening and post a link to them, if anyone is interested.

We are due to cross the equator sometime this evening officially, but the actual equator crossing ceremony will not be held until sometime tomorrow. Our passengers services director that we had lunch with at the most traveled luncheon said he always has a big part in it, and after spending two hours with him at lunch, and getting to know his humor, I can see why.

I will get some shots also of the ceremony and get a few posted sometime tomorrow if time allows.

Update on our problems-DH said we received another call while I was at the casino making sure we haven't had any more problems. We let them know that we have one sprinkler head still dripping occasional, but we are keeping an eye on it. I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up to check it soon. At least we know they aren't forgetting about us and are really trying to make sure we have no more problems with this suite.

Bye for now, and I will get busy on those pictures as soon as I can. Thanks for coming along with us on this 'adventure', and it really has been an adventure so far. ;)

Aloha Toto!

Have you had your lei making or how to navigate by the stars like the polynesians did classes yet? If not, you can make a lei, wear it to dinner and then put it outside hanging on your door! It's a nice greeting to yourselves when you come back to your cabin!

Congrats on the winnings...:)

perhaps this will pay for your trip to a Motu and a cute pareo!!!??

We were able to make it into Christmas Island on one portion of our B2B, the tender had to be taken in by an officer as it was so shallow the other was an approach and then quickly abandoned..

If anyone wants to view my photos from the Christmas Islandm including my "passport stamp" you can see them here (just go into the Tahiti area, it's the 4th Album down)

Hi Toto,

I'm glad to hear that your luck has changed after the "episodes" on the balcony. Your sense of humor is SO AWESOME! ..am looking forward to the pictures. [My DH still thinks that you are secretly testing new leak-proof gold-plated shower caps or light-weight mini umbrellas for Princess Elite/Suite passengers...."Suite caps", so to speak] The last picture sort of gave him the idea. :D All in jest, of course! Glad to hear about the dinner offer.. you should really get free soda cards for the rest of your cruise in compensation, too;) That way your DH won't feel "guilty" when he knocks over another drink...! By now you know all about "clear water"...Take good care and keep your adventure safe.:)

Were you able to ask anyone while on the ship why you are not docking at Christmas Island? I enjoyed the stop when we did it.

Marilee

I asked, even before we left for this cruise, and didn't really receive any actual answer. Just that Princess will no longer be tendering into Christmas Island in the next year or more, at least. I noticed on the Royal's itinerary, they aren't even listing a scenic cruising morning past the island. We did notice the new pier being built, quite large in comparison to the small wooden dock we tendered into almost 20 years ago. All I can think is that Princess may be waiting for the pier to be extended further out maybe? Not sure. I did take some pictures of the new pier, but the signal strength if very low right now due to our location (not even sure if this will post or not).

Anyway, another perfect day in our South Pacific Paradise. The sun is shinning, the sky is blue with a few scattered white puffy clouds, and it is warm and beautiful. In a couple of hours we will be going to watch the equator crossing ceremony, and all these polywogs will immediately turn into shellbacks. :) We crossed the equator last night about 7:30 and they did make the announcement right before dinner.

LAST NIGHT, OMG, what a gorgeous evening. We skipped everything onboard, no show, no casino, and just sat in our lounge chairs on our balcony watching the full moon shine on the ocean for hours. It was perfect, not even any wind.

I will attempt to get some good pictures of the King Neptune crossing ceremony this afternoon, and hopefully upload them, and a few pictures I took as we passed Christmas Island when my signal strength gets a bit better. It seems to go from excellent one moment to very low the next.

Our balcony is still dry, and not even a drip falling down, and hopefully we won't have any more problems. We are dining this evening at Sterlings Steakhouse, compliments of Princess. :) :)

Now back to enjoying the sun and the great sounds of the wake, as we relax on our balcony in 6088.

We visited Christmas Island a couple of summers ago. You go to shore via the ship's lifeboats and at that time they were already having problems navigating their way in. It's a coral island and actually slowly sinking into the sea. They could only take half of the passenger that the boat would normally hold and we all needed to sit in the front of the boat to keep the boat's propellors riding as high in the water as possible. The maneuvering was very tricky. They said at the time that they didn't know how much long they could continue making the visit.

Toto--You will absolutely LOVE your day in Bora Bora with Patrick. His Motu Luncheon is fabulous! You will get such great pictures from atop the island on his 4X4 tour. I can't wait to see them. Hopefully, you will be brave enough to swim with the sharks with Patrick! I was chicken, but my DH did! We did 2 days in Bora Bora back in Jan. and it was the highlight of our 30 day south pacific cruise. Enjoy!

Good Morning from the South Pacific, less than 24 hours away from Bora Bora (and the excitement is building, as we can not wait to arrive).

I can't believe this is our 5th day at sea, they sure went by quickly.

I downloaded a few more shots this AM. The first is of our scenic cruising (?) by Christmas Island. http://community.webshots.com/album/574985677MMYGEE?vhost=community

The second is of the equator crossing ceremony yesterday afternoon.

And the third is a mixed batch of sunrise photos from this morning and a few shots of the crew that takes such good care of us each morning for breakfast at Sabaintis.

Off to enjoy a little sunshine and relax before our all day tour with Patrick tomorrow.

Thanks for joining me! ;)

Crossing the Line Ceremony...

Ahoy Pollywogs and Shellbacks...

If anyone wants to see my photos from our ceremony on Pacific Princess you can find them in the below link

If you are familiar with Frankie there's a hilarious picture of him in there

You can also see the certificate you get and find out more information on the historical origins of this ancient ceremony, the cruise lines have adapted for us!

Here's the link....
