I just read the P&O press release again.

 

......before commencing a summer season of six new cruises from the city.....

 

So the The Black Pearl will visit Auckland for a short season and be based in Sydney?

I expect this will be in addition to an autumn/winter season the same as Pacific Sun is scheduled to do in 2010. Intineraries beyone very early 2011 haven't been released yet.

Is not how Pacific Pearl will look in reality. The P&O on the front (under the bridge windows) looks horrible. Should be the Rising Sun logo (like Pacific Dawn). We've also seen a similarly photoshopped version of Pacific Jewel

I expect they're leaving it open at the moment... if bookings look good there, that may get extended; if vice versa, they can pull her back.

 

As for the photo, noticed that too. I'm not really a fan of either logo though, but this does stand out, and not really in a good way in my view.

If you look at her previous liveries http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/PO-Arcadia-PCs.html#anchor579637 last she was in P&O colours it was blank at the front which looks odd!

Yes, last of the non-traditional Carnival British lines. For me I'm hoping one or two cruises next year on OV (Pearl) and then its probably an end to cruising for me! :(

Was going to book on the Pacific Pearl, looked like it had a really good layout, ah well looks like have to stick with Princess and RCI.

Didn't like the PD other then the dome so can't see myself liking PJ.

Aawww, never mind GixxerGal! You have many more choices over there, than we do. :) We'll certainly look after them.:D

 

We do have a few choices but NONE uses GBP :( all the others are in US$ - so we have to negotiate exchange rates etc --Few have the same informality as OV does and NONE have cabins as large ........

 

They are 2 fabulous ships though - you will all be thrilled with them !! :D

That's a nuisance - I would have thought more, especially P & O, would use GBP. We have at present, I think, 4 ships based here that use AUD and the others that call here for a few cruises use USD.

 

There are lots of nice overseas cruises advertised here but you have to fly to get on them and I have a flying phobia! :(
