Carrie's Review of the Pride to Nassau, Freeport , Port Canaveral Nov 1-8th

I forgot to mention the Chocolate buffet.

It was held on friday from 12-2:30 in the lido buffet area.

I thought carnival hit it on the nail with this one. They had it behind glass so you had to be served. No chaos at all.

We didn't get there until the end as we were having lunch in the MDR and asked when it was. I never saw it in the capers.

I was still thrilled w/ the selection left.

Way to go Carnival.

I'm a chocoholic so this was heaven for me :)

Did you notice any sugar free items? Do you know if they have this on all the ships. Thankyou.

Funny you mentioned Charleston and the Fantasy. We were just looking at those sailings as we have a house in Murrells Inlet so It's a great time to go check on the house !!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the pix of freeport & Nassau. WE had two great beach days.

Glad you're enjoying the pixs... It was a great cruise.

I didn't have any problem opening them. I got through 100 and decided I better get to work since I am at the office. I will have to finish looking at them when I get home. We enjoyed the Pride very much when we were on her out of Long Beach. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. I really enjoy looking at pictures and have a bunch of bookmarks so I can go back and look at them. So glad you enjoyed your trip and the weather was good.

Hi Brian,

The balconies on page 6 (top of page were taken from deck 9 forward).

Pictures looking down of the balconies were taken from our deck 6 balcony.

All extended balconies on Deck 5 can be seen from us up on Deck 6 . I wouldn't want to be down there...

Does this help you ?

OMG you're kids will love everything. I never got a cruise when I was little !!!!

LOL too funny. You know.... there's only 26 more saturdays until we leave! Plenty of time for you to rebook heehee.

I'm looking at the pics now and am curious about the balconies on page 6. Where were you at when you took thos pics? I had the impression that the vast majority didn't have alot of privacy issues.

Have fun at work!

Thanks for the review. I enjoyed the detail on the food. I also like to do a nice presentation when at home. What's that saying...'first you eat with your eyes' or something like that. Anyway, great review. Thanks for taking the time to comprise and post it.

Carrie,

Sure does help since I have a deck 6 balcony as well. One question though...can they see me from deck 7 or is it straight up and not tapered like that? Everything I have seen leads me to believe that the sides are straight up but after seeing that I'm wondering. Godforbid but I wouldn't want anyone to see me outside in my drawers lol.

I know my DD7 LOVES cruising. She cried for days when DW and I left her at grandma's when we went this year. DS doesn't know what he's missing yet but is still super excited about "going on the giant boat". Just to tease them some I'm borrowing some of the pics I have found on here and changing my wallpaper daily to different cruise pics. Do you mind if I "borrow" a few of your pics as well? I promise to give them back when I'm done with them heehee.

You'll love deck 6. Deck 7 can NOT see down to you..There are also NO inside cabins on deck 6 so less crowds in the halls..

We were out on the balcony every morning in our cabin robes, some mornings I forgot I had the towel on my head as I'd look out and over . The guys in the bridge must have had their laughs but hey... It was vacation . Anything goes..

Love your wallpaper idea.. What a great Dad...

Your Kids will be so excited up until sailing day.

Any questions ask away ok.

Carrie, one more thing (did I say this before???) My MIL and DH's bil's mom are going on this cruise with us (seperate cabins lol-we are in aft wrap balcony, they are a few cabins away ) They are both REALLY COOL and I swear, they have more energy than me, but MIL has a bit of a mobility problem. Just basically "old age arthritis". She gets along "okay" with a walker if she has to go any distance and really enjoys doing EVERYTHING. Do you think these beach/resort excursions in Nassau and Freeport would be okay for them? Or should I find something else for them to do? I just don't want to take her somewhere where she will be up and down hills and stairs. Thanks!

Now there's a GREAT thought! Maybe I'll try walking to the DR for breakfast with a towel on my head to see if they say anything. LOL!!!

One of the bigger benefits to booking the pride was the layout and the lack of as many insides. Less insides means more room in the hallways and less people on the decks.

If I come up with any questions I'll be sure to ask away!

HI Karen,

Do they enjoy beautiful beaches ?

Then if so ... Yes take them here.

In Freeport there is a casino before the entrance to the "Our Lucaya" beach resort area. Everything there is FLAT... No hills at all.

I see no issues here. Shopping is also right there.

In Nassau I'd take them in a private taxi to the Cable Beach beach resort. The jitneys would be too hard for them to get in let alone sit in. It gets super crowded and the Aisle seat pulls down so if their wedged in there you can't move. Very uncomfortable but Cheap $1.25 each way.

Again, no hills here. A few steps to the pools and beach. NIce beach bar, grill area here.

I highly recommend both these places.

Hope this helps you and if you think of anything else please just ask.

Carrie

Hi Carrie,

We were on the same cruies with you..... just a small correction. We stayed on deck 6 (6267) and there are inside cabins on deck 6, right across the hall from us.

I stand corrected. We had No inside cabins in our stretch of hallway and I guess I wasn't looking if we walked deck 6 to the aft end.

Thanks for letting me know.

You can add me to their shopping list OR use me as a personal travel guide. The walking/talking kind :D

I finally managed to finish looking at all of your pics - Freeport does look beautiful! The resort you went to is quite inviting.

I do have to say that those last 2 sunset photos are superb ... Wow! You should frame them.

Thanks for writing your review and sending the link to the photos. I've enjoyed it.

Belive it or not we're looking at the Fantasy ship leaving out of Charleston South Carolina for the summer. Prices are great and we can check on some things while out that way.

Someone just posted a thread on this ship and I'm curious to hear all about it. Any of you guys here know anything about it?

I hope you do... It was great. I'm so glad we decided on this. Actually I didn't have a choice. I couldn't get off the usual time I go in october (short staffed at work) so the first week in Nov. was perfect but NO bermuda sailings. We DO love Bermuda... Will go back there for sure.

Things happen for a reason and I'm so glad it worked out this way.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm really thinking that after being hooked on Mark's review and now reading your review' date=' I need to find a way to get a cruise on the Carnival Pride to fit into vacation schedule. :)[/quote']
