Found this cabin to be in a perfect location, just off elevator banks. No long hallway walks and very quiet. Aft location was great, near everything except theater. Europebound Posted January 31, 2010 #103 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Deck - 8 Cabin # - 8322 Class – Don't know, but it was a balcony cabin Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Aft port Bed near?(balcony or bath) – balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Nice & quiet. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– Great views; no blockage Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal, I guess. We've had larger, but this one was fine. Was wind a problem? Sometimes, but only b/c we experienced lots of wind on this cruise. Most of the time, it was fine. Any specific problems with this cabin? Did not care for the narrow vanity in the bathroom nor the limited shelf space on the wall of the bathroom. As noted previously, electrical outlets were inconvenient under the desk. Any other comments? We really liked our location as it was on the Central Park level. The elevators at our end took folks up to the Windjammer, Sports Deck, Viking Crown Lounge and down to the entrance to the Boardwalk, Grand Promenade, and casino. Robin8 Posted February 2, 2010 #105 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Deck - 6 Cabin # - 6562 Class – D4 Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk – Front Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – very quiet, even though it’s a connecting cabin and located right at the entrance to the hallway Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– No obstruction from room or balcony. Lifeboats are on deck 5 so view of water is partially blocked if you look straight down. Not an issue though. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? – Normal and good Was wind a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? No Any other comments? Great location – easy access to Promenade, Central Park, elevators, stairs, etc. We didn’t like the bed by the bathroom configuration at first. It was awkward for 2 people to unpack. Once we settled in & got used to it, we preferred it over the bed by window configuration. We pulled the drapes all the way back and the living space felt very spacious. It was easy to access the balcony and very comfortable sitting on the sofa right by the ocean view.

cruzincanuck Posted February 2, 2010 #109 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Deck - 11 Cabin # - 600 Class – D1 Front Starboard on the 1st hump Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Not a connecting cabin and very quiet although it is dependant on your neighbors. The only noise we heard is when they closed their cabin door Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– excellent location and quite deep- only fault is that it is large enough for a lounger but they are none. Love the new higher table Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized Was wind a problem? No wind problem Any specific problems with this cabin? Small bathroom and we got the impression the shower stall was smaller than other classes. Excellent storage space for 2 people. The coffee table hinder the cabin so it became a new nightstand and we placed the nightstand between the sofa and the wardrobe. It really opened up the area in front of the sofa. Any other comments? I had the hardest time to remember to push the cabin door rather than pull when exiting the cabin. Kinda hilarious to see me each time.
pcl_cruiser Posted February 3, 2010 #110 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Deck - 9Cabin # - 729 Class – B1 Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Boardwalk Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – No. During shows at the Aquatheater, you could hear everything. We were outside watching most of the shows, so it wasn't a problem for us. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– Boardwalk view balcony, THE best views of anything going on at the Aquatheater. This room is at the very back of the ship. Couldn't here anything going on at the rock climbing wall, just the shows at night. If you stay up for the night shows (late) you wouldn't mind the shows/music at night Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? Noise from the Aquatheater, if you go to bed early. (no problem for us) I liked the fact that no one was walking passed my door unless it was the people in the Aquatheater suite. I do NOT like the closet near the bed setup. I would have preferred the couch near the closet, even though that would put the bed close to the balcony door. Any other comments? Wish I were still on the ship :( Sorry I know I am not supposed to comment but we are gonna be in 8329 across and down one from where you were, do you have any pics or anything that we could see of what is looks like,(view, balcony, etc)? Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue – Standard View, nothing special. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? See below Any specific problems with this cabin? -- Throughout the entire southbound run, everytime we had the door open a "moaning" sound came from the area of the sofa and wall, near the door. Sounded like motor running. the oddest thing. Did not occur while in port or Northbound. Any other comments?
hlfrps Posted February 7, 2010 #113 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Deck - 11Cabin # - 590 Class – superior ocean view Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - forward starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – dh is a napper and I am a balcony sitter but the balcony door does not allow the person on the balcony to turn the handle to close all the way and in not being able to do so, a whistle and "swoose" sound became very loud. we complained (took having to put the phone closer to door so maintenance could hear the noise, they came, was okay for two days, then returned. Also, at night, the walls creeked as if the installation was settling. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– any balcony view is great. was located just at the beginning of the first hump. could see bridge and extended hot tup. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - being at the beginning of the hump, balcony was a bit bigger. Was wind a problem? no Any specific problems with this cabin? see comments about balcony above. Any other comments? cabin was a short walk to forward elevators. bathroom sink and waterpik operator didn't jive too well . didn't think we would like the bed by bath but it really gave you great living space with couch by balcony.
