Well, after 2 years of hard work I have reached platinum!!!!

Just booked the Victory for 2/28/10.

I was so excited when I saw VIP on my luggage tags...I was so afraid that I had somehow mis-counted my past cruises or I had somehow mis read the rules on becoming Platinum but now I have proof!!!!

Does anyone know if the cruise terminal in San Juan has a VIP lounge?

Also if any one has any tips on how to get the most from my new status please pass them along.

Welcome to the club! I love using the VIP check-in and the other perks are pretty good also! I do have a question to any other platinum cruisers though.....have you used the laundry service more than once on a cruise? Are we allowed to used it more than once? I have only used the service once since I have been platinum and was just talking about it with my BFF who is also platinum and on her next cruise will be in the port town a couple of days before her cruise leaves and was thinking that she would maybe need the service twice since you cant pack as much these days when flying to port!

Congrats on Platinum Enjoy the free laundry and priority embarkation

I dont know how you could handle all those short cruises I do 7-8 day on Carnival and that isnt long enough thats why I cruise the other lines to get 9-12 day cruises so I have more days of relaxation:D

And yes you can use the laundry Multi times

OP congrats on being Platinum. Besides the laundry, the priority tender line is great. There will be a letter in your cabin with a special phone number you can call whenever you need something from guest services. Ask them how they handle the tender, each ship is different, but most have you go to guest services and they escort you to the front of the line.

Regarding the laundry, I send mine out as often as I like. I just did two cruises with land portions over the course of 3 weeks and I was sending laundry out every other day. I tip my cabin steward extra at the end. But beware, all laundry is done in one load so becareful what you put together. And don't send anything delicate.

We've used the laundry service multiple times on each of our cruises. Just make sure to write platinum on the bag, and anywhere it asks for your folio number. One of the best perks!

We have used the laundry service more than once on every platinum cruise to date. There were two cruises on the Dream when they suspended the more than once use of this perk (due to huge platinum members on the ship...bloggers cruise...over 600...average platinum members on any cruise is more like 40), but even then if asked they let you use it more than once.

Congrats! Of all the perks, the VIP embark/debark is the best IMO. Yes we've used the laundry more than once on a cruise, and I think it depends on the cabin steward. Be sure to "take care" of him/her and you'll have no problem at all.

Our next cruise will make us "Milestone". Not much more to it, but it looks good on the "sign-n-sail" card. Oh yes,,,the 25% OBC on that cruise is nice!

Wow, 2 years to get platinum..wow!!!!!!

I have to wait until September of this year, around 3.5 years, before I get Platinum status!!! I have had a suite twice, so I have had VIP before..It is nice...you get to go to the head of the line......Well, unless the ship is not ready to board and then when they do call it is ready there is a mad rush for all VIP's to lineup and get on. Either way, my last cruise I had a suite ad It took an extra 5 minutes or so for all other VIP's in front of me to get onboard!!!!! You won't hear me complain about being on the ship in 15 minutes from VIP's lining up to stepping on board the ship!!!!!! That was the fastest ever boarding second to the Triumph where it took 25 minutes and I wasn't VIP (no one else was in line, and it was only around 1pm).

On the Glory in September we didn't have to wait in long lines to get tickets to the Comedy Club show just had to show our cards and in we went. It was great because they also got us seats up front and personal.

Love the laundry, the petit fors (sp) and h'overdos (sp again) before dinner. We got a silver picture frame well we've gotten two so far.
