Its actually a short taxi ride from the Meridian (love the central location of this hotel) to any of the cruise piers. Not sure of the current exact price but it should be no more than 10 Euro total.

Given that most people will be arriving at the Barcelona airport and will have to travel to the port, can you give us some idea of the total cost for two people (1 harge and 1 carry-on each) from the airport to the port?

Thank you very much. This will be our first visit to Barcelona, so we are somewhat apprehansive as to where we should stay and how we should travel. We will be arriving by air from Paris on the day before the cruise and are thinking we may want to say an extra niight after just to make flight arragements back to the US a little easier. I'm wondering if it would be best to just plan to stay at a hotel near the airport so we would have just one taxi ride to get to the ship. Does that make sense? Any reasonably priced hotels atthe airpost you woudl recommend? TIA

These are approximate taxi costs

Airport to Ramblas 25-30 Euros

Airport to Port 30-35 Euros

Central hotel to Port 20-30 Euros (depending where hotel is)

It will cost more at the weekend and in the evening.

These were inline with what we experienced, but there are additional charges for more people and more luggage.

The taxi's are all metered and everyone we took the driver was clean and courteous.

We paid ~ 35 Euros for 3-4 people and 4-5 pieces in each car, port to Las Ramblas and about the same from there to the airport.

Enjoy Barcelona

I would not recommend staying at the airport. It would be a shame not to see something of Barcelona.

You can either take a taxi from the airport to Barcelona or there is an airport bus. It runs from about 6am to midnight with buses about every 10-15 minutes. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes.

You can catch the Aerobus from outside all 3 airport terminals. The Aerobus will then take you to the city center. The main stops are Placa d'Espanya, Placa de Catalunya and Sants railway station.

Tickets are4.05 for a single and €7 return. Tickets can be purchased on the bus or at ticket machines in the airport.

There are lots of hotels in Barcelona so it is difficult to recommend just one. It depends on your budget.

Hotels you might like to look into (approximate ascending order of price)

Regencia Colon

Continental

Continental Palacete

Hotel Jazz

Colon

Montecarlo

Hotel 1898

Atrium Palace

Eurostars Grand Marina

If you are taking the bus from the airport look for a hotel near one of the bus drop off points.

Also there are lots of threads you can search for here recommending Barcelona hotels.

Oh, Please, don't stay at the airport. Barcelona is such a lovely city it would be sad for you to miss it!!! There are tons of hotels that are reasonably priced so it does depend on your budget. You can find hotel info and reviews on:

We are looking at booking A2BTransfers for shuttle from airport to hotel, hotel to pier, and then pier to airport. Has anyone used them? They quote $23.00 US for 2 people for each trip which is a lot less than taxi.

We are looking at them too. I found a few reviews on Trip Advisor, but they don't seem to be a well known company (maybe a best kept secret?). Here is the link.

Carol many from our Liberty Roll next Oct are already booked in the Continental and Palaceta. Right now we have cruise transfers but want to go in 2 days early so not sure if we will be able to retain them. I have been in touch with the people from http://www.BarcelonaDayTours.com. They sent me a break down for shutle service either from the Airport depending on size of van needed or Cruise Terminal. They also included prices for tours based upon the number in your group.
