Smuggling on Booze.?.?

As for you supporting the casino, that is an individual thing. Not everyone does spend money in the casino..

The inference here is that everyone does spend money on alcoholic drinks, can't believe that will be the case. If you object to someone carrying their own drink outwith the cabin then, presumably, those who do not gamble cannot walk through the casino in your world?

As one who neither drinks alcohol, or gambles, it does not upset me in the slightest what others do...why do you concern yourself so much about what others do?

where do you get these rum runners and what are they hehe.

i have a plastic flask that i bring to the beach but its bright pink and

looks.... well....like a flask!

I just got back from the Gem on 1/13/10 and had no issues carrying my Rum Runners onto the ship packed at the bottom of my luggage. It came on via porter so maybe they weren't checking them.

FWIW, the liquid scanning technology is very much in its infancy and experimental stage. If there's any terahertz scanners set to look for liquids, you can be sure they're looking for explosives and not liquor.

If you plan to drink often they are a decent investment. Drink prices on the ship are what you'd pay at a bar or club in North Jersey or a less-glitzy place in Manhattan, or from a bar at a restaurant.

Also, some shops in St. Maarten sold plastic rum bottles of their local guavaberry and other flavored rums, which won't get picked up by security. I brought two bottles through the X-ray and wasn't stopped; I took them to the liquor table of my own volition.

google rumrunner. they have their own website. shipping was fast and they worked like a charm on my last cruise. I bought a soda card and drank rum&cokes often with my stash. Got the cruise kit so I had big ones and also little ones to carry in my cargo shorts.

BALONEY! They only catch the brazen and the stoopid:eek:

No No No! All of these stories of successful smuggling efforts are bald-faced made-up stories that only serve as cheap entertainment for posters who want to stand at the dock and laugh at smugglers as they are caught and chastised. It is literally impossible to sneak anything past the 2 crew members in charge of looking for contraband hootch.

The best policy is to not even try.

On the NCL Dawn how hard is it to bring a liquor bottle on board ? And if you cant bring it on can you buy it on the ship to drink it in your cabin ? I know there is a duty free shop but if I'm not mistaken they give it back to you after the cruise.....

Why would you sail NCL when you can go on Holland America and bring all the best champers and all the very best wines to drink in your cabin?

I don't know what a champer is, but you can bring all the wine and Champagne you want on NCL too.. and you can drink it in your cabin too. ;)

Yes you can on NCL after you pay your corkage! No corkage on HAL only in the dining room or lounges.

I took a HAL cruise last November, a couple of CC gathering people I met each had a full case of wine put onboard with their luggage. No corkage fees or other problems despite a full case of wine in a cardboard box clearly labeled as wine.cheers3.gif

Holy smokes! I don't think (Scratch that---I KNOW) I'll never be able to afford all the best wines & champagnes anyhow!!!

For instance I understand a Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck can be had for 'only' $275,000 (sort of makes that $15 corkage insignificant)

I'll stick with my Moet :D (and no, it's not the Dom)

Or better yet, Château Ste Michelle wines
