trvlcrzy Posted March 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2010 If two couples were booking the same cruise but have different booking numbers... we are from the same hometown... so flying out of the same airport... Is it likely that using cruise air will assign us the same flights? (Mom wants us to be on the same plane!) This is a "one-way" cruise... so we won't end in the same port we started from. Does that mean it will make life simpler to use cruise air? Thanks for any info you can provide!
njhorseman Posted March 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2010 There's no guarantee you'll be on the same flights if you have separate booking numbers. If you're using the cruise line's air, most lines have a "custom air" department (the name varies from cruise line to cruise line) and you may be able to request specific flights through them, although many cruise lines charge a fee for this service. You always have the option of booking your own flights...and in fact this is usually cheaper than booking air through the cruise lines, and gives you complete control of your flight selection. wrp96 Posted March 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2010 If you must be on the same flights, then you will either need to do an air deviation (custom air) or book your own flights.
paul929207 Posted March 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2010 If you use cruise air there is a good chance you will be on the same flights, but no guarentee.
kenish Posted March 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2010 I assume you've read the sticky on cruiseline air and know what you're giving up for questionable cost savings? Keep in mind that you may end up on a very roundabout itenerary with long layovers even if you are all on the same plane. The departure time may leave you on a stressful dash to the airport, and if anything goes sideways you're on your own and will be at the bottom of the list for rebooking by the airline. You can do custom air but the price is not much different than making your own reservations with the airline; quite often custom air is higher. Ashland Posted March 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2010 You should have the two cruise reservations linked together..this should signify that you are traveling together, but I would speak directly with your cruiseline to ensure this..Good luck and enjoy !!
