chefboz Posted June 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2010 Hope some of you experienced cruisers can answer this Oceania Regatta. I understand that the emptied luggage can be pushed under the bed in a concierge A series room. Does an expandable Travelpro piece measuring 28" x 20-1/2" x 12-1/2" fit underneath? ? I keep reading that "Less is More" when it comes to traveling and many can keep it down to one carry on size, but for a 2 week cruise, I'm afraid of not packing enough. Thanks
Rare LHT28 Posted June 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2010 I have 2 x 26 " cases & I just put them in the closet Just stack them if you have long hanging items I would not want to put mine under the bed  Lyn

Thanks We have luggage precisely that size, and it fits beautifully under the beds. They keep "under the bed" immaculately clean, because if the passenger does not use that area for storage, then it's a handy place for the staff to store excess duvets and the like ;)
potterhill Posted June 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2010 We always store ours under the bed. You may have to lift the edge of the bed a bit, but there is lots of room. Mo
neepawa Posted June 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2010 Our 2 suitcases the same size as yours have fitted under the beds on our 3 cruises in A1 cabins on Regatta. Don
Mura Posted June 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2010 As I recall (someone will correct me if I am wrong!), they will take it off for you if it does NOT fit. We have a large 28" suitcase that generally does not fit under the bed (the 26" does), but we usually put it next to the sofa by the window to the veranda. It's out of the way and there's no problem. TKS Posted June 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2010 We were in an A1 cabin on our last Oceania Nautica cruise (the ship is supposed to be identical to Regatta), and we had no problem fitting similar sized luggage under the bed. However, we found there was ample room in the closets and drawers for all our things, so if you prefer to store your luggage in the closet you should have no problem as long as you are sensible about what you take with you. Also remember there is a self-service laundry onboard, allowing you to pack lighter and still have clean clothes. It's sometimes crowded, but it's also a good place to meet and talk to new people.:) As the cruise director on our very first cruise years ago said, "on your next cruise bring half the clothes and twice the money, and you'll have a better time." She was right! Packing, unpacking and dragging huge bags through airports is NOT fun. Have a wonderful cruise! Kay:D
YoHoHo Posted June 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2010 On our last cruise we brought new luggage that was thicker than most and would not quite fit under the bed by a few mm. Our room steward happily took it to storage for us. I realized after if I had simply opened the suitcase and laid flat it would have easily fit under the bed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. vaitape Posted June 19, 2010 #12 Share Posted June 19, 2010 We have 2 26 inch bags and found LHT's suggestion worked for us....stacking them in the closet. We were gone for almost 7 weeks and through wild climate-change zones so brought the gamet for clothing. We easily stowed our duffles under the bed and they were easily reached for access if we needed to). We used an empty duffle for a laundry bag which worked great. Our cruise was 39 days (heaven) and we were very comfortable in our Cat A cabin. Lesson learned as stated by TKS......bring less clothes and more money! We found that the ship's laundry did a great job and the prices were very reasonable.
agnesd Posted June 19, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 19, 2010 We opened the luggage piece and slid it under the bed opened. Works great and we sill had room for a smaller piece closed.
jamesr3939 Posted June 24, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 24, 2010 Done all those and still go back to having the steward store it for us if it won't fit under the bed.

Ms Understood Posted August 13, 2010 #17 Share Posted August 13, 2010 My bags did not slide under the bed, too high but a teeny bit. I use a collapsible clothes hamper in the closet so couldnt fit both suitcases in there. Sent one to storage with the steward and put one in the closet. Worked out fine. --------------------------- Helen
ClaudiaF Posted August 14, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 14, 2010 Mine goes under the bed also..so easyJancruz1 except after the cruise..then that becomes a real problem..as the shoes wardrobe has grown..so speaking of "NESTING" bags.my advice is to bring more....:D
