FB Posted June 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2010 What was the one food item you became absolutely addicted to on a cruise and have searched near and far at home to get or buy as often as possible. Mine was Grana Padano cheese wrapped in Prosciutto. Luckily it is readily available at most grocery stores although finding "good" Prosciutto took a little bit of time. I have bought this snack almost every week since my March cruise on Costa Atlantica. FB

seasearider Posted June 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2010 To be honest, nothing. We look forward to our home cooking when we leave a cruise, so much more healthy and way less salt.

cruiseaholic78 Posted June 22, 2010 #20 Share Posted June 22, 2010 2 things spring to mind: 1) the chololate fountain on the last night of any Aida Cruises 2) when we were on our last Aida voyage from NY to Dominican Republic we stopped in Charlston and visited a restaurant there called Fleets Landing. I ordered a pecan pie for desert and it was the best I have ever tasted, after the cruise I mailed them this and got the recipe. actually my conclusion is of course I go for the deserts.:)

davekathy Posted June 22, 2010 #23 Share Posted June 22, 2010 For my wife it’s the escargot. For me it’s a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the MDR. For the both of us it’s the chorizo chili dip from room service.
PSCruiser Posted June 22, 2010 #24 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Chicken drumettes from room service however I have no desire to replicate at home.... for me they are for enjoyment on a cruise, on a balcony with sea view.... ;) Sorry to say, room service has gone to boneless honey-stung chicken on some ships (on Navigator recently). However, this is delicious also. My favorites: escargot, crepes filled with white chocolate from the WJ.
