A few nice, friendly, pretty insect shots from this past weekend:

And some darker and creepier nightmare bug shots too:

(shots taken with NEX-5N, 55-210mm lens, 1.7x teleextender)

WOW!

Fantastic shots.

Question, how did you get that green background .... which is incredible.

Thanks John - all credit goes to Florida - there's almost always a green leafy background when shooting any birds or wildlife, since Florida is a pretty green and tropical place - as soon as you shallow the depth of field to blur the background, you're most likely to have a lovely soft green as a background color!

Amazing pictures, everyone.

The photo of "it's a small world" brought back find memories- I loved that ride when I was young. The colors are fantastic in the photo

Love the butterfly pics, too.

These were taken with my point and shoot

Just my dog enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon

I went down to Galveston for lunch today. This guy was also looking for some freshly caught seafood!

When I got home I found some new blooms on my hibiscus. It's still so hot they may bloom all winter!

I started an on-line photography class last week, and yesterday we got our first photo assignment. It was to take a picture using the "Rule of Thirds."

After a trip to the arboretum (it was mostly a bust...everything's green or brown right now:() I decided to walk around my yard with my new macro lens.

I took an on-line course a couple of years ago - really learned a lot. Poor DH - dragged him all over the place so I could shoot for the different lessons.
