Brancine Posted August 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2010 Trying to decide what time to make car service reservations for pick-up on our upcoming Bermuda cruise. We live locally and won't be in any particular rush to get off. Thanks.

Brancine Posted August 8, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted August 8, 2010 No, we won't be taking off our own luggage.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2010 If you are having someone pick you up -- arrange for them to be at the pier by 9 AM. Everyone has to be off the ship by about 10 AM if all has gone well.
mamaofami Posted August 8, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2010 There isn't really anyplace for people picking you up to wait in NYC at the pier. We had our limo driver wait at the next street and we called him when we were exiting the pier. Then he came up the ramp and got us.

Because the ships are nose-in and not parallel to the ramps, each ship gets very little "frontage" for pick-up and drop-off, and experienced drivers know that. To the OP, be sure that your driver believes you. Veendam disembarks its pax early than other ships. Your driver may not think it's possible for you to get off the ship as early as you will. Our driver was late picking us up, because he had never had a pickup so early and figured we were wrong when we gave him a time.
micki823 Posted August 11, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2010 We docked promptly at 7 AM. We were in the third group off the ship. It was quick and easy and we were on the street at 8:50. We had arranged for a 9:30 pick up. I would suggest 9AM.
