yyzatcqq Posted August 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2010 As long as I can. If it's only a single 1-nighter, so be it, but I'm happiest with 20+ days. Going for 29 in December, and another 29 next September!
Host Kewlguy Posted August 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2010 14 nights is just about right.

Duck Duck Cruise Posted August 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Minimum of 14 days and up with at least two booked in the future.
morriscats Posted August 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Progressed from 7 to 10 and then to 15. We now have a 28 day Hawaii/Samoa/Tahiti for next year and so looking forward to it.
Tatka Posted August 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2010 It really depends on itinerary. We usually cruise twice per year 7-9 days each, but our next is 10 dayer. I would like to cruise 12 days, but only with an adequate ports of call. Let's say for this length there should be at least 9.
Colo Cruiser Posted August 12, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2010 10 or more. ;)
DeepWaterMariner Posted August 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted August 12, 2010 I marked 14 days because its hard to get my wife to cruise any longer than two weeks. For me it is the longer the better.
Druke I Posted August 12, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Voted for 14, but actually I like anything up to 30 days (my wife's arbitrary limit).
bhopal21 Posted August 12, 2010 #13 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Seven is enough for us at this point in our lives. It is difficult for both of us to be away from our jobs for much more than a week and we are usually ready to come home by then anyway to see our babies (a greyhound and 3 cats). We also do land vacations since we prefer to stay in some locales for several days or a week at a time rather than a port stop. Mike:)

bhopal21 Posted August 12, 2010 #15 Share Posted August 12, 2010 When we took our Panama Canal cruise we wanted to be home after the transit as it all seemed anti-climatic after that.:D Of course having to stop in Ocho Rios while on the way home made it even worse. MadameButterfly Posted August 12, 2010 #16 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Short cruises are just that... too short. I've found I need at 7 days to get comfortable, learn my way around the ship and truly relax. I think I'd like a back to back, haven't tried it yet, and I haven't done any longer than 10 days, so I'm just going to check "as long as I can get" as well. I'm also very limited in the time off I can get, so... hence my ability to take a longer cruise is null right now in my career. But that's what my 401k is for, right? cruiser113 Posted August 12, 2010 #17 Share Posted August 12, 2010 10 days ? longer.... after retirement the sky's the limit . 7 days works for work schedule, but would prefer 10-
janina Posted August 12, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 12, 2010 It's not worth the hassles of planes and packing for me to do just 7 nights. Just way too short. Love at least 14.:)
DonnaK Posted August 12, 2010 #19 Share Posted August 12, 2010 We just came off a 9-day cruise....all of our previous cruises have been 7 days. I would say that I couldn't continue eating that way for any more days! lol Seriously, I would probably love a 14 day cruise or longer, but my traveling companions (husband and teenagers) feel that 7-10 days is long enough. Anyway, my husband cannot get more than one week plus a day or two of the following/preceeding week off from work at a time (he gets 5+ weeks vacation time, but has to take it in small portions.) dchip Posted August 12, 2010 #20 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Most of our cruises have been 10 - 14 days. One was 18 and we weren't ready to get off. We are booked for 28 days next October on the Sapphire. Looking forward to a long leisurely cruise. Not seeing our grandkids for 4 weeks is going to be the tough part. Cheers, Denise
cdngrl Posted August 12, 2010 #21 Share Posted August 12, 2010 the longer the better. i was on a 30 day last winter and i thought i would be ready to get off by the end. nope, i still could have still stayed on longer. so i guess my answer is 'as long as i can'. Quacker Posted August 12, 2010 #22 Share Posted August 12, 2010 We like 14 to 21 days. It is such a pain to fly anymore we don't want to be on another flight in just 7 days.
Go-Bucks! Posted August 12, 2010 #23 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Minimum - 14 days. Wish I could do longer now, but my boss isn't happy that I go for that long. Eventually, after retirement, "the longer the better." :p
CTGirl Posted August 12, 2010 #24 Share Posted August 12, 2010 I like the 12 day European ones. We go a few days early and are away from home 17 days at the most. The longest we've been on the ship is 14 days. We would like to go longer but have cats that stay in the house while we are gone. We have a kitty sitter come once a day but I worry about them. Besides they kind of get a bit angry at us for leaving them and if we stayed away too long they would scratch the house to shreds and there would be nothing left to come home to. BoPippy Posted August 12, 2010 #25 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Done 7,10,11,12,14,17...only hate the 7 day ones, never again .Too short.
