FunandSunPeeps Posted August 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2010 I have a feeling that this question has been asked and answered but I will check again anyway. We are booked for a mini-suite on the Crown Princess Dolphin Deck..but an opportunity came up to switch to a mini on the Emerald Deck. I was concerned about the music/noise from Club Fusion. Does anyone know if this is a valid concern? Anyone had a mini on that level on the Crown, Emerald or Ruby?
dforeigner Posted August 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Sometimes you can hear the base thump from the music on the port side. Starboard side is quiet.
Cruzman Posted August 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We were in E 731 on the CB which is right over the bandstand. On two evenings, we heard faint sounds of the bass until about 10:30 PM, and then it was quiet. The tradeoff of having a private covered balcony trumps the possibility of sounds from the Fusion below as far as I am concerned.
CTGirl Posted August 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We've had Emerald deck minis on sevedral ships, including the Crown, Emerald and Ruby. The only time we had a problem with noise was when we were on the Grand. We had the last cabin on port side. I could hear everything from the Vista Lounge. We were on the Grand again about 4 months later but on starboard side. I didn't hear anything. Now I will only do the starboard side minis. stoneharborlady Posted August 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We had E727 on the CB. There were a few times that we were "aware" of the bass, but it was not annoying or noisy. In any case, it was over before midnight. We loved being on Emerald deck. Its a very convenient location, in relation to Horizon Court, the aft pool, and the elevator for Traditional dining. Its also a very quiet hallway, a nice place to be for a week.
capriccio Posted August 22, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We were in E 731 on the Emerald last summer for the Baltics cruise. We brought ear plugs and never had to use them even though the cabin is right above the bandstand in Club Fusion. It could be that everyone was exhausted from the very port intensive tour - we certainly were! E 731 has the extended balcony too - we'd book it again in a heartbeat! Pam in CA Posted August 22, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Take it they are excellent.I agree. My favorite location on the ship. I've had minis on Emerald deck several times and never heard anything. This is an extremely quiet location. There have been very few reports of any noise or thumping and they have always been from the cabins furthest aft on the even-numbered side of the ship as those are above the stage. The odd-numbered cabins don't hear any noise that I'm aware of.

Since it's a mini to a mini I'm not sure why it would be better:confused: I know it's one floor closer to the action, but still--I'd probably go for whichever is located more to your liking as far as fore, aft or mid. I think the Emerald minis are all very aft, frankly I'd prefer Dolphin aft as the Club Fusion noise won't be an issue for sure, but if you have trouble walking you might like Emerald better. Grats on an upgrade offer!
hydrodriver831 Posted August 22, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2010 We had E729 on the Golden. No noise problem there. Enjoy.:)

pjs9876 Posted August 23, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Another yes vote. We had E731 on Emerald and the one next door on Sapphire. No noise at all and no traffic walking past. I actually like the higher floors (so I see further) but these minis are great.

I believe you are mistaken, the bandstand is NOT under E-731, It's under E-730 on the oposite side of the Ship. E-731 is always a great location.(actually any of the odd number mini's on that deck are good.

tntfox Posted August 23, 2010 #15 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Well, we just got the last mini available on Emerald for our sailing; E722. I hope we're not disappointed by the level of noise coming thru the floor.
jlf1 Posted August 23, 2010 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2010 We were on the Aug 10th sailing around the British Isles in E727 and had no noise at all but then again everyone says that the starboard side is quiet and they are right. Loved the location and the mini suite. Covered balcony is the best. We only had one night of rain but that meant we were able to sit out and listen to the rush of water and rain. Whimsy Posted August 23, 2010 #17 Share Posted August 23, 2010 I have sailed in both, E730 and E731. You can hear bass in E730 but nothing that would make me not take that cabin. E731, never heard a thing.
Nana G Posted August 23, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 23, 2010 We also have had both and booked in E730 again. I agree, nothing would stop us from wither room. Noise was not a problem.

E-730 was great on that cruise, no noise whatsoever and loved the balcony!
tntfox Posted August 23, 2010 #20 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Well, I'm feeling better with my decision to book that cabin now. Biggest decision maker? The covered balcony! ;)

We enjoyed our Emerald mini on CB very much. No noise.
Colo Cruiser Posted August 23, 2010 #22 Share Posted August 23, 2010 With it being a dead end passageway there is not alot of foot traffic either.
