Captains Club - Cruise Credits

Hi,

I have been reading the posts about the Captain's Club points. I know you would get a point for a 7 day cruise, and if you are in a Concierge Class room, you would get an extra credit for the cruise. So, it would be a total of 2 credits, not 3 as some have suggested. You didn't get credit for a room in the past, (other than perhaps a suite) so how could you figure you would get credit of 2 for the room, and one for the trip? It's always been a sailing credit for each trip. So in effect they are doubling the sailing credit for the trip if you are in Concierge Class. On the 12 day or longer trip, you would get 2 credits for the trip, and if in CC, you will get only 1 credit for being in there for your total of 3, the maximum allowed. Does that it easier to understand?

Yep Katie. That is how I have understood it too. It's 'double' not 'triple'. I think someone at the Captains Club has been giving out some duff info.

Don't mean to muddy the waters any more than they're already muddied but what if you booked a regular balcony cabin on a 7 day and then were upgraded by Celebrity to a CC cabin? Do you think you'd get the extra credit? Seems like the language says you have to "book" the cc cabin, not stay in it.

You booked a CC room and didn't stay in it.

I didn't think you got 2 credits for a 7 day cruise. I thought it had to be 11 or 12 day staying in a CC stateroom. This is getting so confusing.

MSUSigmaK and meyer4two ~ my email directed to CaptainsClub@Celebrity.com was not directed to a specific person; but the representative who responded was a Ms. Amy Scott.

i received 1 credit for my 11-nite 4/5/04 SUMMIT cruise and 1 credit for having been in Concierge Class, for a *total* of 2 credits.

Interestingly enough, when i booked my cruise in the latter part of 2003, my cabin on deck 9 was not yet classified as a Concierge Class cabin. It was only by a fluke that i had picked up another Brochure months later from a travel agency, that i noticed my assigned cabin was now a CC cabin. i called my travel agent to enquire about this, who then called Celebrity, and ,,, so it came to pass. icon_smile.gif

As to getting 2 credits for a 7-night cruise, i'm befuddled!

I think this:

"if you are sailing on a seven night sailing and are booked in the Concierge Class you would have one credit for the sailing and two credits for the Concierge Class."

means that you get a SECOND credit for the Concierge Class, not an ADDITIONAL two credits. It was simply poorly phrased.

Also, this credit system is only valid on cruises taken AFTER a certain date.

icon_mad.gif Still waiting for reply from Captain's Club regarding my so called upgrade to a 100% blocked view, (after I paid for oceanview). I got no consideration at all for my Captain's Club points. Don't lose any sleep over points. After I sailed twice within three months, brought 3 friends, spent a bundle at the Art Auction and casino, they don't even acknowledge my many E-mails. I did, however get a $2 voucher for the casino. Whoopee!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_smile.gif I swear those CC phone people in Witchata or somwhere really really far from the Ocean do drugs (legal drugs that is). They always are so nice on the phone that I forgive them and believe their promises and hang up with a smile on my stupid face only to not get what they promised in the mail. I love being aboard but certainly can't figure out what happens to their staff or employees or whatever they are when they are standing/sitting on land. I just call again and start over. Nothing major here cause really what is the big deal over cruise credits now anyhow?? But man I wish they could get the little stuff straight.

I did find out that all those two weekers that I was on prior to the "New Rule" don't count..The points are not retroactive.

What happens if you reach both 5 credits and 6 credits on the same cruise? I have cabin booked for 15 night Hawaii, which gives 2 credits. I already have 4 credits. Does this mean I will be Select on that cruise because I will have earned 6 credits. I sent an email to Captain's Club to ask but have not heard back.

Great question. We are in a similar situation -- we have two credits each from our 2003 14day TransAtlantic. We are booked for 14day 10/24 Mediterranean which will give us four credits (no CC class, yet-Upgrades always appreciated though icon_smile.gif We are also booked for 14day 11/07 TransAtlantic which takes us to six credits. Maybe halfway through the TransAtlantic cruise we'll be bumped up icon_biggrin.gif Or not. Who cares really? We'll be cruising and happy anyway.

Here is the answer I received about reaching both 5 and 6 credits on the same cruise.

Thank you for your e-mail. Your membership in the Captain's Club is determined by how many times you sail with Celebrity. Your membership status will advance through the program with the more cruises you take. When you complete your fifth Celebrity cruise, your membership will advance to the Select Level. When you complete your tenth Celebrity cruise, your membership will advance into the Elite Level. (Please note: your membership number will not change.) To ensure you are offered the proper rewards and benefits along the way, you will receive a new membership card indicating your new level. There is a maximum of three cruise credits on any one sailing. Looks like it doesn't matter a flip for booking CC or longer than 12 days.

jeano---you do not advance mid-cruise. i tried that and they said no. I had to wait until after the cruise to advance to next level.

Bottom line is that Captain's Club "perks" are nice but don't really amount to much at any level. Wish they would offer discounts or onboard credits at various point levels as several other cruiselines presently do.

  • 4 months later...

You get one sailing credit for any Celebrity cruise.

If you sail on a 12 night cruise or longer you would recieve

an extra credit for the cruise.

If you have a CC or suite cabin you would recieve an extra credit for the cruise.

So, an 11 night or less cruise in less than a CC or suite would earn 1 sailing credit.

A 12 night cruise or longer in less than a CC or suite would earn 2 sailing credits.

An 11 night or less cruise in a CC or suite cabin would earn 2 sailing credits.

Finally, a 12 night or longer cruise in a CC or suite would earn 3 sailing credits.

You can only earn 3 sailing credits by sailing in a CC or suite for 12 nights or longer.

Back to back cruises would be treated a separate sailings.

You would earn a minimum of 2 sailing credits for a B2B cruise and a maximum of 6 sailing credits for a B2B sailing of 2 12 night or longer cruises in a CC or suite.

I hope to have made this perfectly clear. :p

Bambi - we returned from our trip at the beginning of December in 2003 and we were in a suite. As soon as the new policy came out, I asked about the extra credit since it was so close and was told that we did not qualify since it didn't start until January.
