Walking from Manhatten terminal

We will be docked for two nights at the Manhatten terminal in October and we were wondering if it is possible/practical to walk from the terminal to Rockefeller center? We are in good shape and used to walking long distances.

We would also like to take a carriage ride (is it in or is it around Central Park) - where would we pick this up and any idea of cost?

Thanks so much in advance

It's a long ugly walk and to me my time would be better spent doing other things. Take a five dollar cab ride to Times Square and walk up Seventh Avenue to Central Park. Head East on Central Park South and you will smell the horses before you see them. Around $50 for a 15 minute cab ride.

Something everyone should do at least once.

If you want to feel like a real New Yorker, head back down to West 57th and Le Parker Meridian and have a burger in the burger joint. It is down the hidden hall beside the front desk.

Best burger in NYC and much better than The Shake Shack.

You can walk it, it will definitely burn some extra calories.:) You will be approximately at 50 and 12th, and you want to walk across town to 50th between 6th and 5th. St. Patrick's is on Fifth Ave. The carriage ride (Hansom cab) can be found at 59th Street and Central Park South across from Plaza Hotel.

I've walked it many times, including end of August. For Rockerfeller Center, go left off the ship, and up 50th just past 6th Ave, and Radio City, Rockerfeller Center will be on the right.

As for the Central Park Carrage, continue through Rockerfeller Center, turn left up 5th Ave, walk 9 + blocks, right to Central Park and the Carrages.

The standard carriage ride through Central Park costs $50 plus tip for the first 20 minutes (per carriage, not per person). Every additional 10 minutes in the carriage is $20 more, and longer rides are negotiable. Prices may vary, so make sure you check with the driver before the ride begins.
