Best cruise news I've had in ages!

No loss! It is about time that both HAL and the Bermudian government realized that the tendering process has not worked well and instead cruise directly to Hamilton, (to remain for three days), where passengers could be given ?bus/taxi vouchers to travel to St. George's, if they so desired!:)

They didn't realize anything. The tender won't be in service because its damaged.....Have you been adversely effected by the tendering process ????

I'm at the library in Hamilton and was thankful we didn't tender into St. George's. I would have started that sentence "Fortunately, we won't be tendering..." :)

Thats you...for us and others its unfortunate....:(

I think the ship's tenders are too small to take pax from out in the ocean where the ship is into St Georges in a reasonable amount of time and safety in open water. It is a pretty long way and it would take forever to get all the pax to shore and back.

Makes sense -- I do know that on our Hawaiian cruise we tendered quite a distance between the ship and Lahaina.

I also think that the Bermudian government might require a pilot for each of the ships tenders to navigate the "Cut"..

Are you speaking from personal experience of tendering on the Veendam or just injecting $.02 on observation of some posts?

Personally enjoyed and had no problems with the tendering process on the Vendam.

Re another question: It's also been posted that the Bermuda government does not allow the ship to use it's own tenders to transport passengers to St. George's.

More likely, the latter.

As you know, there are quite a few who haven't been on board Veendam since the re-do, and they jump on the "I hate the Retreat/stern appendage/Lanai cabins/St Georges tendering bandwagon ...
