If your port is cancelled.......?

Yes, mostly more trivia.

You will get back only govt taxes on the port charges, no matter if the policy was $25 pp or not when you booked. Carnival now changes contracts whenever they want.

Luckily we had so many friends on board that it didnt really matter.

We also missed some nightly shows, because the entertainers couldnt get on the ship.

We've been on two weather-impacted cruises. The first was Carnival Conquest in 2005, when Hurricane Dennis caused us to miss Grand Cayman, arrive a night early in Cozumel, and disembark a day late. The CD was Todd Wittmer and he did a great job of rearranging shows and activities to make sure there was plenty to do. The second was last month on Carnival Glory, when we sailed just in front of Hurricane Earl. While we made our port of call in Saint John, the weather was not good until late afternoon and a lot of people just stayed on the ship. The CD was Jorge Solano and he worked with his entertainment staff to add some extra games to the morning and afternoon schedules. The entertainment staff also was out and about visiting with passengers - we had a nice talk with one of the social hosts from Canada while we were on the Promenade deck playing cards.

I wish they would do a pub crawl. When we cruised in Hawaii a few years back we weren't able to go to one of the ports and they did a pub crawl. $20 per person. At every bar we stopped at we got a different drink. We played trivia at each bar and could get prizes for correct answers. I think there were some dare type things too. It was a blast.

Last week on the Liberty we could not get into Grand Turk due to high winds.

They opened the DR for lunch and added a few trivia games and of course left the shops and casino opened.

It was fine just very rocky as they decided to sub Nassau so had to get there at high speed to make it late the next morning.

Personally would have preferred an extra sea day to Nassau.
