Cruise director list enjoy

Hi Kewlguy,

 

I spite of a Cruise Director's many "back room" administrative duties and responsibilities, we saw Jimmy all of the time. In fact, when he found out we sailed with him on his first cruise as a CD some years ago, he treated us to dinner in Portofino.

Jimmy Rhodes is currently on Explorer. The guy was invisible around the ship. In stark contrast to Captain Olav who seemed to be everywhere.

 

Agreed!!!!!!!!!. He did however, handle the belly flop contest and the Quest. And cake baking with the Exec Soux Chef

I agree. I never saw Jimmy on board as much as I saw Dave Chapman, ex CD of the Explorer, or Matt Baker of NCL Dawn. Matt Baker literally ran the ship! I was very disappointed with Jimmy. He may be an excellent show man and dancer, but a cruise director he is NOT cut out to be. The cruise director's staff was not as good either, except for Manuel who always had a smile on his face. Game shows and theater shows were not as good as on NCL. Other than that it was an excellent cruise.

I thought Jimmy Rhodes was very good and not boring at all. The bottom line is that everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially when it has been formulated and expressed through the lens of one's unique background, history and culture.

Jimmy Rhodes just got off the Explorer on January 28th for vacation. He did not say for how long or who was replacing him.

Just back from Navigator, and Mitch Merucci was the CD. However, he mentioned in one of his morning shows that he was leaving today. I asked one of the assistants at afternoon trivia yesterday who was taking over. She said "some guy named Mike, can't remember his last name." She said Mitch was going off for a while and would be coming on to the Oasis as activity manager and that he was only on the Nav for a month or so as a trial CD, as the company is apparently hiring more CD's right now.

 

We were on the Navigator Jan 15 - 20, Mike Hunnerup was the cruise director.

Mike was fine, we didn't really do a lot of cruise director-related activities but he seemed very pleasant and we saw him around the ship. Don't know about the Med..... sorry!
