Carly got off Jan 17th and the Blairs took over then. At that time Carly told me she'd be back on EN in May for 2 months. That adds up to the same as what the Blairs told you. At least we're getting consistent info!:eek:

 

Any idea who will be taking over for Carly on the Rhapsody in May since she's going to Enchantment? (We sail on May 13th.)

How is Kirk Dew as a CD?

 

Do you mean Kirk Detweiler? If so, he is a veteran CD who we first met on Rhapsody of the Seas in Hawaii in 1998. Since then he has been CD on several other ships. Last I heard he was on Radiance but was on vacation when we sailed her in Alaska last year. He is a talented singer.:)

We also love Kirk. He's on Freedom right now and will have a few days off before heading over the Radiance again in very early April where he will finish off Alaska.....then Bobby and Becky will take over as CD for t he crossing and Australia.

I don't believe so. I think that Becky is Bobby Brown's wife. He and she were CD and hostess on the Brilliance some years back and she is very personable. The Becky you refer to (Becky Thompson?) was much too perky and over the top for my liking but she definitely had a strong group of fans. Last I read was that she was working onshore training new CDs.

Going on our first cruise in Oct on the Allure for our Honeymoon so just wondering what is the significance of who the cruise director is on a cruise? What do they do / what is their role on the cruise?

No need for appologies. I was raised the only stupid question is the unasked question.

 

Anyways, the Cruise Director is the one over all the misc entertainment crew. These are the people that coordinate shows, games, and other misc entertainment. Like the Love and Marriage show (CD usually MCs it), ditto The Quest (FUN game, a must go for us). Their crew run the Bingo games, the parades and other stuff. A good CD can really make a cruise that much better.

Hi, Joanie,

 

In case anybody cares, Rico's last name is Du-Breil, according to his business card. (Almost everybody else seems to have a last name.:rolleyes:)

 

Secondly, when I was last talking to Paul, I got the impression that he was only filling in when he is called, but doesn't have a regular ship. Do you have any other info? I'll bet Bill (negc) can answer.
