dvond Posted October 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2010 I understand the formal nights but on nights that we were in port, does it matter what is worn within reason? (Nice Jeans or Shorts)?
Langley Cruisers Posted October 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Shorts are not permitted in the Dining Room, but you may wear them to dinner in the Windjammer buffet. Feel free. RCI's suggested dress code guidelines do not mention jeans. I have seen people wear them in the DR on non-formal nights.
cb at sea Posted October 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Nice jeans on casual night (with a collared shirt, for men---or a cute top, for women) are fine... Jeans are cotton slacks! Dress them up a bit...you shouldn't look like you're ready to mow the lawn or anything! Most men will be in cotton twill (docker-style) pants, and women will wear capris, skirts, sundresses, slacks....that sort of thing. Tee shirts are best for daytime...not dinner. No rubber flip-flops...leather thong sandals are ok.
UandMe4Ever Posted October 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Save the shorts for the WJ ~ Please wear slacks in the MDR...Thanks!
Sugar*Magnolia Posted October 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Agree, please save the shorts for WJ, they don't belong in the mdr for dinner, and save the mens sandals for WJ too.
manu4evr Posted October 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Jeans are perfectly acceptable in the MDR. On many ships there is a sign outside the MDR at dinner that states "No shorts allowed". Unfortunately some choose to ignore it and you will see some shorts at dinner.
